Anyone have Ventus VeloCore in fairway woods?

Red 7S in my 3 and 5 wood are not going anywhere any time soon. They just work, and I am very comfortable with them after not many rounds. I am toying with a blue 8S in my hybrid but the atmos blue Is old trusty at This point. For some reason the blue just feels really loose to me, where the atmos is more uniform.

I suppose it's technically possible, but they're generally 42" uncut, heavy, and meant to carry a heavier hybrid head.    That'd be quite a bit of tip to shave away as well, I could see starting to question strength, especially with a lighter shaft.   I've never done it or seen it done but I suppose it might be the answer for someone, somewhere

Hope he meant .355 taper. .335 would be ruining an expensive shaft for sure. I have fitted .370 graphite to .355 taper many many times. Never a failure.

I need some advice here. I have the Black 6x in my TSi3 and absolutely love it!  I just dropped my M6 3 and 5 woods for a Tsi2 4 wood and put the Black 7x from my 5 wood in the 4. Off the tee it’s incredible, but off the deck I’m just not getting the launch I need, and this is where I use it most.

Should I consider the Blue or maybe the Red?  Should I try it in 7x, 8x, or something else?

I would give serious consideration to going with the Red 7x or 8x (depending on what weight you prefer). Seems to be getting more and more use in fwy woods. Especially as you like the black profile but are looking for more launch, just have to get the tipping correct.

After a short test period I actually have just put a Blue 7x in my 3 wood (epic flash sz 15 degree). Kicked out the AD TP 7x that had been in there for 3 years. Love the TP but for those times I need to hit more of draw the Ventus Blue allows me to do just that,Dispersion has tightened up as well. Fuji does recommend no tipping in driver and 3 wood with Ventus, but I tipped mine 0.5” due to my preference and results have been great. After a range session and a practice round it went straight in the bag.

Red 8X in 3 and 5 Woods and Red 9X in 7 and 9 woods. Very trustworthy shafts and perform better than anything has in the past 15 years. I rarely change fairways and I don't see these leaving the bag.

On another note I am trying a Blue 9X Hybrid to replace an OG Aldila NV-85X in a Bridgestone J33 Airmuscle 3(21*). So far I like it and it performs as well as the aforementioned fairways, I'm just not sold on the softer butt section (feel).

The answer to better golf is work your butt off and learn how to hit it better, farther, and make more putts.

Curious if anyone has the Velocore shaft in their fairway woods or even hybrid?  How does it perform? As good as it is in a driver? Not worth it?

Fantastic if launch/spin isn't an issue for you in shots off the deck. If so, the RED would be your best option, but another shaft may be the answer

Not really sure what flex my shaft would test at now, but the Ventus Red 7S tipped 3/4 of an inch has been great in an Epic Max LS head. It is possible to get that shaft playing more like the Black with tipping, but what I like is the Red feels less stout (to me.)

I have only tried the Ventus Blue in the 50g weight and I was all over the place. Sold it. Right now I have a Tour AD DI 7 stiff in my fairway wood and it performs as advertised. I can see why Xander and so many pros love the DI in fairways. I like that it really gets the ball up off turf with plenty of carry. Feels effortless. That is the fairway shaft the Ventus would need to beat because a properly fit DI in a fairway wood is a very versatile, smooth feeling club that handles a lot of swings. It is essentially a Blue profile.

Fitter tells me I need high 70g range or even 80g range in my fairway. The Blue 8 stiff is one I’d like to try. Going slightly heavier, to a 71 gram driver shaft and a 200g head, has been a solid move.

While I disliked both the Black and Blue in the driver, I absolutely love the Blue in my fairway woods and hybrid. Currently I play a 7x, 8x, and 9x in my 4 wood, 7 wood, and 4 hybrid, respectively. The shafts feel and perform great. However...I have a few RDX Blue TX shafts in route, and very interested to try our a Red...

I have been playing a Black 6x in my driver and Black 7x in my 4 wood. I just got hold of a Red 7x yesterday and tried it in my 4 wood. The wind was strong in my face but I was happy with how far I was carrying it and it didn’t seem to balloon on me.  Hope to get it on trackman and get some numbers tomorrow.

I play them in everything I can. Driver I have a Black 6x (45 1/4”) and 7x (44 1/4”), 4 wood has a Black 8x, 7 wood has a Red 9x and my hybrid has a Black 10tx. They just flat out perform in everything.

I started with the 7x in my driver, and that was the beginning of the end for me. I had always played 70g weight class driver shafts and always between 44” and 44 1/2” but the Ventus line has been so stable for me I’m gaming the 60g version over length in a less forgiving head. The shafts are the real deal.

I am going to get fit for my fairways but I play the Ventus Blue 6x in my driver. Does it correlate to the fairway woods? I was thinking Blue 7x in my 3 wood and Red 7x in my 5 wood?

What did you go with?

Anyone playing TR Red in a fairway? Currently gaming the Red TR in my Driver and love the combo. I have 7x Black in my fairway, but looking at switching it up to get a little higher ball flight for the fairway to be more "useable".

I bought a Ventus red 7s off a member here and have it in my 4 wood. Launches high and goes straight. It feels soft but doesn’t play loose at all. Great fairway shaft.

I’ve got it my 3 wood that mainly gets used off the tee.  Your right it feels soft and gets the ball up quickly but is not loose and goes very straight when a good swing is put on it.

After trying the Ventus Blue 6R in my Ping G425 driver, I decided to purchase a Blue 5S.  My dispersion has been very good with the 6R (tipped 1"), but I lost a few yards compared to my old shaft.  The Blue 5S seems to be the perfect fit in my driver with good dispersion and yards gained.  This past weekend I tried the 6R in my Ping G410 3 wood.  I choked up on the shaft to approximately 43" playing length and I am super impressed.  My dispersion and distance were very good, both off the deck and off the tee.  I hit a couple of impressive drives on tight par 4's that are permanently recorded in my memory bank.
