If you truly believe a slightly lower spinning ball (maybe 10 or 15 percent compared to a Tour ball?) is going to result in your hitting significantly more fairways and avoiding penalty shots then surely you ought to be looking for something even lower spin than that so you never hit an offline shot at all. Why stop with a Surlyn ball that's at the high end of the Surlyn-ball spin spectrum?

I've tried some with lower compression and they don't perform nearly as well.  At least, not for me.

Some final thoughts on this ball for me. I’ve played a little more with it and am swinging better.

if you are a higher spin player who loses balls off the tee or misses a lot of greens due to curving shots, sacrifice the chipping spin and some distance off the tee and play this ball. It’s incredible how straight it flies off of all clubs.

HOWEVER, if you are a player who can hit it in play and swing somewhere in the 105+ range, you are going to lose distance off the tee with this  ball compared to a firmer offering. You may be closer to the middle of the fairway though.

I also find this ball at least a half club longer on irons off the deck, sometimes a full club off the tee. So take that as a positive or negative. If you wanna hit nukey boy mid irons  this is also your ball. It may make up for the distance lost off the tee.

It’s a solid ball, feels soft and springy to me. That’s a love or hate thing. I will keep the rest of my dozen for winter.

I can't argue with your comment regarding swing speed of 105+ because I'm not even close to that.  But I would take issue with this ball curing your curving shots, be that a slice or draw.  I can still slice it if I leave the club head open, so I'm not really sure the dimple pattern is what's contributing to the straight flight.. could be the internals of the ball.  When I compared it to the Tour B RX, I found a similar flight pattern so it could be just the nature of a low spin ball... any low spin ball.

Agree 100% on distance off the irons.  I'm hitting more GIR's than I ever have and I attribute this to distance off the irons.

I guess I should have been more specific, it’s curves significantly less for me. Which could be the difference in OB or not .

On that I will agree.  It does seem to hold the line better than most.  I happen to go through a swing change about the time I switched to this ball, so it's really hard for me to tell if it's the ball or my swing change.

I think, in summary, its a great straight ball, not intended for high-ish swing speeds but it is straight.

Exactly like the e6...

Bought a dozen yesterday and played 18 with one ball yesterday.  Have been playing the Titleist Tour Speed most of the summer.  E12 Contact is very straight, trajectory is about the same, distance is equal I would say and I found spin on full shots to be excellent.  Greenside chips, I'm not sure about, I didn't have enough of them to make a judgement.  Putting, it felt great, not clicky or mushy.  I was 1-over thru 7 holes on a very difficult course in northern Michigan.  Distance control was equal to the Tour Speed.  So, for now the E12 Contact is my ball of choice.  At $30./doz, I say you can't beat it as an all around good ball.

I bought a dozen based on this thread. I didn't find any advantage to them over the other balls I typically play. I quickly lost all three of them and didn't see the distance gains discussed. They also felt harder to me than E6s which I really like. I'm going to try another sleeve soon but I'm disappointed because I'm also a senior golfer with a swing speed similar to jjfcpa.

Well that's a good thing for me, I'll going to have to check them out as soon as I'm done with the e12 Softs I have in the closet.

Tried it for 9 holes and found it to be uninspiring.  Of the E12 Series, I like the E12 Soft better but neither play as well as the Callaway Supersoft for me.

What is it about the Supersoft that you prefer? I actually just bought a dozen since I'm heading into my first 50-ish degree round of the year on Saturday.

More consistent carry, spin and greater distance overall. About 10 yards with the driver.

Played 18 with the e12 Contact yesterday on a course I'd never played before.  Driver swing speed is normally low to mid 90's and I was getting the Driver out there about 250.  Long club distances were impressive, shorter irons seemed to be about normal.  Didn't check as much as Pro V's but also hadn't played these greens before.  Didn't lose a ball, it's much straighter than what I'm used to.  10 yards further with driver and in play all day...shot 90 (not a great round for me) but on a course I hadn't played before I won't complain about that.

I am finding the e12 Contact to be a great ball.  Distance is same as the Totleiat Tour Speed and the feel is great and the spin is great also.  I spun a full PW back 15 feet last week and had a 5 wd shot rollout only 10 feet or so.  At this point,  it is my ball going forward.

I read this elsewhere as well.

I like the e12 soft and was just about to go back to it. However.....they're not on sale anymore and replaced by the contact, so here I am 🙂

Interestingly, i found a pack of lost and founds (They basically look at all matte yellow bridgestones and put them in a dozen) and they're about 50-50 between e12 soft and contacts.

So, tomorrow, I plan to play them both around 18, together with a few B RXS to see how they fair against each other. (I recall RXS were firmer previously)

I was a fan of the 2018 supersoft in matte green. I've read recently, however, that their quality is not so great in their contruction consistency. I think they're not perfectly round ? E12 soft was my next most similar replacement to that. They feel really great.

I only doubt about the swing speed marketting recommendations. for driver I swing 110-117, but i'm curious when irons are between 90-100mph, would they perform better ? Of course, one should be weging or ironing more than driving, so it would make perfect sense not to care for the driver SS.

I only 'look' at sound when i'm putting, i don't like clicky tocky.

the comparison didn't go well. I gve up on the soft because i realised if i liked it, moving forward, it's discontinued, so i played the contact.

  • contact is a nicer cover and it did go pretty straight.
  • It didn't hold up well into the wind though, just ballooned.
  • I notice i left all my putts short as well, after having dialed in a good distance system recently on putting.
  • All of the chip or pitch shots shot over the green from a goo dlanding spot

Seem some have had great success with it, dosn't seem to be for me unfortunately.

B RXS stayed at home, because it sounded trash when i was putting it.
