Haar - fog, Mochie - muggy, like very muggy weather after the rain (remember it is all relative), Drookit - sideways rain that soaks you to the bone.  

They say that the Scots have the largest lexicon for weather simply owing to the fact that weather is so prominent in Scotland . . .  earlier in the week, Jerry Foltz said he was on the plane to Scotland to enjoy the summer weather . . . meaning that they usually expereince all four seasons in a single day!

The cutline was threatened to move to +2; but it's less likely now.   It's unlikely that Gabriella Crowley (+1), Andrea Lee (E) and Elizabeth Szokol (-1) all drop to +2 or higher.

 

What a roller coaster ride for Andrea in two days!

This has been s sticky tournament from the start!

 

Rarely, the leaders lead the cutline by only 8 shots; and there're only 66 players play the weekend.  Essentially, everyone can still win the tournament.

Can't remember what holes it was on. The first was on a par 3. After she hit, she swung the club back real fast in anger and took a divot. On another hole she slammed the driver head into the ground after hitting her tee shot.

Curious why the afternoon wave's scoring was higher than the morning. The weather sure didn't seem to change much. 'Probably due to the fact that the afternoon players have to sit around for over 24 hours before teeing off, whereas the morning groups pick up where they left off the afternoon before.

 

Definitely agree that anyone who made the cut is still in this. Other than Georgia, it looked like the early leaders were simply trying not to mess up. So so rounds by Nelly, Sei Young, and Madelene. 

 

Mina has had a good season, but I just don't see her hanging on for the wind. Lizette might. 

 

Lexi could have a three shot lead if she could putt.

 

Minjee looked solid. 

 

Lydia's short game bailed her out, again, but she was making some really poor decisions early in the round by bringing the bunkers into play. Her accuracy isn't good enough to take them on. Heck, Nelly was avoiding them for the most part and she's miles ahead of Lydia in the driving accuracy department. 'Glad Lydia got through. Hopefully she'll have a weekend charge.

On 2 different sites, Google and AIG, both showing  leaderboards, the final 2 players, Pace and Suwannapura are listed as either WD, or RTD. 

Can anyone tell me the difference between Withdrawn (WD), and Retired (RTD) as far as the golf scoring/rules?

And is this unique to the R&A since i have never known a player on the US Tour, male or female, to 'Retire'?

WD  typically happens before or after a round, the RTD occurs during a round.  but, that was the definitions we used to go with . . . who knows if it is truly accurate and I cannot be bothered to look iit up on a friday night 😄
