Jason Day has an interesting bag now that he’s a FA. He’s been changing a lot. He had mizunos and then went back to his TM irons. He swapped putters and used a 2-ball for a bit and then went back to his spider. His ball was the tour bxs Tiger ball and now switched to the bx.

He’s such a great talent and nice guy, I wish he could stay healthy. If he does turn things around I think Bridgestone picks him up as a sponsor.

Well, that one even says V-steel on it.

V-steel sole configuration was “reintroduced “with the SIM fairway lineup.

V-steel sole with the Adams slot thing on the bottom and they may have a winner.  I bought one of the TM blue 3 woods and that sucker was garbage.  I don't recall the model but it is at home in a bag in the garage collecting dust and spiders.  I bought an Adams with the slot thing before the TM takeover.  Sucker is a rocket.  Lots of forgiveness top to bottom.

Langer's 1993 bag, indeed. And the second 1-iron is a 4-iron with a worn sole. 🙂

I'm pretty sure I saw him hit one of those 2 irons off of the tee on 17 at TPC Scottsdale back around the 2005 tournament. It looked quite a bit out of place compared to the other irons I remember and had some old lead tape on it. I didn't really appreciate it back then but it was the only club that stood out to me out of the many bags and shots I saw that day on that tee.

Always fun to look at Langer's bag. Even as far back as the mid '80s, when he was the first official world number one, he was using a bagful of scrag ends with lead tape everywhere that looked like something you'd find loafing in the back of a garden shed.

Jeev Milkha Singh's high handicapper clubs from 2008/2009.

341.jpg

DRIVER I use a Callaway FT-3 that says 8.5˚ but has been bent to 6˚. I’ve damaged my wrist so I set up with the club open at address, the 6˚ loft ensures the ball doesn’t go too high.

3-WOOD I have a 12˚ Callaway Big Bertha Steelhead with a Diamana x-flex shaft, the same as in my driver. I carry that between 250 and 260 yards.

5-WOOD I have a classic 17˚ Callaway Big Bertha that’s great for hitting into par 5s in two and long par 3s.

IRONS My Calllaway FT irons have extra stiff UST KB Tour shafts. They have a great feel and I love having a more forgiving head.

WEDGES When it comes to my clubs, I’m old school! I use Ping Zing wedges, 56˚ and 58˚. I have to order them specially as Ping don’t make them anymore.

PUTTER I use a Scotty Cameron Circa ’62 No.6. I’ve always liked this shape of putter and this has a really soft feel that I like.

BALL I’ve used the Titleist Pro V1x for three years. I think it’s particularly good in the wind.

SHOES I wear FootJoy DryJoys because my right foot has no arch and these offer great support.

I agree.  A fantastically individual bag. The irons were twenty years old at the time, and the fairway woods were even older, I think. Possibly from the 1940s?

Did not think about it before ( senior moment) those are reverse muscle like the Armour 925s of the early 50s--- Those appear to be remakes of those straight out of the Macgregor Custom Shop. Original 925s from the 50s did not use the Tourney Custom script the used the Tommy Armour script. But with Macgregor's custom department at the time they could be forged and ground to the exact specs and with Johnny's modifications too

@conorgolf22i had to google (because of your "because of the grips" comment w.r.t. Keith Mitchell's WITB ... presumably because Keith uses old-school victory grips? )

paying it forward here ( to save others a google)

Calc rocking a great wedge and the same green Victory Full Cords. 👍

If anyone has a stash of them, or Tour Wrap Full Cords or Pro Only All Cords, I have a functioning left kidney I can trade.

In fact, who am I kidding? For a big box of All Cords I'll throw in my brain.

As an aside, why don't Golf Pride and Lamkin sell the things? The patterns are in the system. Even if they only sold a limited amout to old gits like me who want them - even at a tenner a pop - they'd surely make a profit.

They re-issued them about three years ago in the US.  I bought and re-gripped a set with them.  Not that great.  Tour Velvet is better.  The are nostalgic though.

Not quite as hammered as his old Tour Grinds from his heyday, but a sobering moment for anyone who looks at their six month-old set of irons and bemoans the fact that they're 'worn out' and hurting their game as a result.
