They ruined the most beautiful wedges on the market IMO. I still haven’t been able to justify $239 on the SD 0311’s but these look like a step backwards.

Big miss on this wedge, especially the price point.  I have a feeling they will drop the prices of these wedges a lot quicker than normal.

Wish they were cheaper, but 100% milled is not likely to be so upon release for a new iteration.

I cannot see them selling a lot of these like the previous releases based on looks alone.  I’m sure they will be performers though.

The weights on the Gen 5 look further apart than on any driver I can recall. That should make for serious adjustability.

Might be in the minority but I think these SD look really good. The real question is, when will PXG expand their shaft offerings. Only reason I haven't entertained PXG irons or wedges.

Nope....look just as good to me as my Gen 4 irons sets.

But my only question is when will the price drop.  🤑

If you call them or schedule a fitting with a local PXG rep, they do offer more shafts, and will also email you the list if requested.  I completely agree that shaft options on the website a extremely lacking.

I’m thinking their menu may be not working properly because grind options bounce value doesn’t change when you cycle through each wedge.

When the Gen 3 price dropped, I called their sales line to inquire about other shaft offerings not listed on the site and was told no other options. I even asked if they'd sell me a set unassembled so I can get them built with my preferred shafts. I wasn't even recommended to schedule a fitting. I'll wait for a price drop before trying again.

That is unfortunate.  My experience was different.  Try to track down your local rep.  It could also be that the Gen 3's were already assembled.  Good luck!

I think part of the problem is they only sell what they have stock in. They won't let you place an order with X shaft and give you an order date months out. Massive supply shortages as have been well documented and obviously the big boys are going to take care of TM, Callaway, etc. first.

They're only offering the BP (13*) & C (10*) bounce options currently to the public through their website. You need tour truck access to get lower bounce. I don't think there's much of a market for that low of bounce except for us studs on Wrx. Original SD wedges lowest bounce is 7*.

The shaping and grinds on these wedges looks awesome. Even the BP grind looks like it would be great in a sand wedge.

 

I just don't know if I could get used to looking at full-face grooves in every wedge. That and they have no shafts in stock just like everyone else right now.

Is the leading edge much more curved than the existing SDs? I have the forged and I think they’re pretty straight.
