it’s very low. I don’t know why people play such low bounce. I’ve always had already 10° of bounce in my 60 up to 12°. Bounce is 100% your friend so I’ve always embraced that

Keep in mind the bounce number on the sole doesn’t mean a whole lot, especially if they have a grind on it. It’s just whatever the mfr. determined with however they measure it. Sole width, camber, everything factors to how it plays. Plenty of guys with low bounce 60s or that switch up their 60 a lot depending on turf conditions as that’s likely getting the most use around the greens.

Likely never. TM is sadly moving away from this and likely trying to talk him into a new model. Love he’s rocking the Spider X with the 6g weights - Really makes this stick sing.

Interesting to see him in the higher bounce wedges, 13-12. I wonder if he picked that up from TW who goes 12-11 in his wedges. 

 

Although I'm not sure if Rory's 58 high bounce is the stock grind. Hard to tell.

The TaylorMade Custom options PDF that’s on the website lists the slant neck is coming to retail this year. I don’t know a date though. Funny this winter I created a Silver MySpider X to match that look and now it’s coming to retail.

say what. Madness. Especially in the lob wedge. Plenty of PGA dudes at 4-6*. Plenty more have 10* or more stated the. Ground down to sub 8. 
 

let’s check out the Titleist staffers or non contracted guys during the Florida swing. I’d bet 30%+ are playing 8* or less bounce.

I think your wrong. But that is ok. Low bounce is not as popular as people think. I bet the average is over ten.

If you scan down the WITB page you could probably find data to support both arguments. On one hand, there are a decent number of 4* and 6* lob wedges out there, care of the Vokey L-Grind and RTX "Lo" models. Lob wedges in general seem to trend towards lower bounce on average, probably sitting somewhere around 8*-ish it feels like. On the other hand, the remaining wedges are far more often higher bounce, 10-14* most commonly. Plenty of guys with just 10-12* across the board.

I'm obviously not a pro but I duff my low bounce 60° on short shots way too often.  It got to the point where I don't even game it anymore.  Same make/model 56° with 12° bounce I rarely ever duff.  (knock on wood)

Very happy to be proven wrong here as well. haha. Just what I have seen. But, we all tend to notice more of what we agree with.

Don’t get me wrong - one of the biggest Rory fans out there - but every time he has 8 iron or in, I always expect a subpar shot from tour pro standards.
 

For me, I would be super pumped about hitting it 50ft but I can always see the disappointment Rory feels after the strike.

It’s funny, IMO Rory was a much wiser player who had more shots when he was younger. Current Rory tries to play like 1997 Tiger, just mash every shot 100% except he can’t putt like ‘97 Tiger. 
 

It’s interesting to see the opposite progression in Rory vs Tiger.

He's actually top 10 SG putting over the last 6 months. It's his completely average approach play that is holding him back right now (top 5 around the green and driving).

Pistol GT Tour, but JT uses the older Pistol GTR Tour.

 

I actually prefer the older one, doesn't have the weight port. I use my own counter-weights underneath it, 10-15 grams.
