I was surprised at how effective the virtual fitting was. Apparently they use the same iPod touch + software combo in person as well to get putting metrics off of you. I think the one downside of the virtual fitting is not being able to try out all the different putter heads and see them before making your order decisions. Overall, I didn't have too many complaints with it. They go pretty in depth on the fitting stats with you.

Thanks for the informative reply.  I am in AZ and could probably head up there to get an in person one.  But work is killing me at the moment.  I am waffling between the two.....

My putter came in today! The patina finish looks amazing in person. The headcover is also really nice. I'm going to have to get some leather care products for it.

Your putter turned out great. I was fit one week after you and ordered an Anser D in Patina with a single line on the topline.  I am hoping mine comes in this week!

How custom can they go? I’m looking for an Anser style putter with a long plumber’s neck and lighter head weight (310g). Is this possible, or is it just matching a good prefab head to shaft for someone’s stroke?

I'm also curious how light some of these heads can go.  Love the Anser D, but play a 330 gram head.  Not sure it can go that light.

They can’t go lighter with any heads. The wide heads are 360 or 365 I can’t remember which and the regular anser and anser 2’s with plumbers necks are around 340.

Have you tried an original anser 5? They have the longer plumbers neck and clock in around 310ish from memory, but you can fine tune weights anyways 

 

you can mill the faces on them as well 

I’ve done both of the above on my anser 3

I agree. There are a lot of great Kushin 4 putters on here. I can’t wait to see one in person to get a better feel for the dimensions.

It has arrived. I’ll report back after a few rounds. The black steel shaft is slick, the finish is lovely. Very good feel rolling it indoors.

Wow that looks great! I have my fitting in a few weeks and I’m torn between the patina and oyster finishes.

Will post better pics later.. long story very short.. transitioned from a traditional plumbers neck blade to an X11 last year. Stroke felt great but didn’t find myself making as many putts as I felt I should. I use a line on the golf ball on every putt and eventually came to the conclusion that the line and square shape of the 11 was pulling my focus too much into the putter face and away from focusing on the intended line and pace. I signed up for the PLD virtual fitting and was very impressed. Putted at an avg +3 handicap level and was really impressed with Alex’s analysis and fitting. Wound up with a proto Anser X with a dot. Gives me the stroke feel I want and have been putting absolutely lights out.

As a lifelong devotee to the Anser X style, I highly approve.  That is a geat looking putter.

Three rounds this weekend. I’m extremely happy with this product. I always putted best with a Newport 2 Squareback 1.5, but never liked the insert. The shape of the Kushin is perfect and the lack of sight lines or dots is just what I needed. Yes, it is pricey, but to get the shape I wanted and the neck that fits my stroke in a solid stainless model with my specs was worth it. My slow tempo needed extra headweight, and the 365g is a good fit. I’ve made some nice putts over the last few days without forcing pace.

 

oh, and the headcover is lush. Period.

I had my virtual fitting with Alex and we went through a number of options, head types and finishes. They gathered a lot of information from the 15 putts with the Ping app and I found it very informative. After going through everything, we narrowed it down to the Anser and Anser 30, but went with the Anser for a touch more toe hang. I was torn between SS and Carbon Steel and really wanted a satin silver carbon steel putter, which Ping was willing to do. In the end, Alex mentioned the possibility of rust or oxidation happening down the road and it coming through the finish and that was not something I wanted to deal with, so I ended up going to the Stainless route.

 

Putter Specs:

Anser Head

S.S. - Satin Finish

Deep Milling

355g

35.5' Chrome Shaft

PP62 - Blue Ping Winn Grip

 

I am also going with a lot of stamping/engraving, especially on the sole of the putter, so really looking forward to seeing how it turns out. Should have it in 3-5 weeks.

Question; for those such as @dmwilson09 doing an extensive amount of custom engraving.
Is the stated  head weight AFTER the engraving or before? 

It would seem difficult to know exactly how much weight engraving would reduce total weight, and where in order to mill in extra weight in the beginning.

 

But after all, they are an engineering company 🙂

Side bar question as I don't want to derail this but do you just select the material or manually enter the density and it does the calculations?
