That DZB is amazing. Prior to my Anser 4J I was a long time redwood d66 player. Any idea how much softer the grooves make it feel? I may have to reach out about the availability of this model.

Once I get it, I'll let you know! 😉  I went with the horizontal deep grooves but they also do the whole face milling as well.  I suppose if you got carbon it would be even softer if that's what you're looking for.

Just got my shipping notice. Delivery will be four weeks to the day. Can’t complain at all given everything these days. This even includes a last minute shaft change today.

I typically prefer a firmer feel and a nice click. My Anser 4J is stainless with shallow milling. Those deep horizontal grooves remind me of a Bettinardi fit face, so I’m curious how soft the feel is. 
 

During my fitting, Alex actually went and found me a lone carbon d66 that they had laying around and offered it to me, which I thought was really cool. The Anser 4J was a little better fit for me, so I went that way.

Love my non milled 4J but intrigued by the TR milling. I have a like new Karsten 5 with the TR milling but it’s a completely different putter being face balanced and with an elastomer/paint in the groves.
I wonder how the Anser would roll with clean TR groves.

I really like the DB but just not my stroke style fit.

 

As Alex suggested, they can always add milling but can’t remove it.

The DZB is almost certainly for strong arc players as is the Anser 4J. The D66 and ZB3 are for strong arcs. If you were fit for the 4J, then the DZB may not be far off. The Anser 5 seems to be the outlier here …

Yeah I am exactly on the line of slight/strong arc and the 4J was the “best” recommendation by Alex. He said the DZ was just a bit to strong for me.
I could have got it but the weight was the deciding factor. My tempo dictates a lighter head weight and the 4J has been spot on for me.

Hello!

A plated/coated carbon putter should be fairly maintenance free. With that said, it's always a good idea to always dry the putter before putting it back into a head cover and leaving it for a while. Sandy greens can lead to some really small scratches in the finish that could be oxidization points, but again...keep the putter clean and dry an you'll have absolutely no issues with it.

This plus occasionally spray a rag with silicone spray and wipe it down.

Yes! Especially with that matte black finish...it will be a great moisture barrier AND will make that finish pop. Good call.

I got a pic from Alex today...tungsten is in, initials are engraved. Just waiting on glazed donut finish and paint. Fully stoked.

They can put them on for different amounts of time, thus making them lighter or darker...just ask.  I'd like to see an oyster donut...kidding but wonder if that's a thing. Some finishes aren't like that (satin) but the hand applied ones are.

Yep! I sent Alex this picture when asking about changing to glazed donut. He said it's a pretty good representation of what the glazed donut finish comes out looking like. If my putter comes to me looking anything close to this, I'm going to be stupidly happy.

It rolls so sweet.  Can't wait to get it outside, our Bermuda is rollin' right now and smooth as glass.   

 

Feel is subjective, but the ball pops off the face and is rolling immediately.  Set it down the first time and it lines up perfect, grounds right where my eyeline is...perfect fit.

Pretty close, for sure.  Trying something new with no sightlines....during the fitting we discussed eye dominance and tendencies and thought this might be helpful.  

 

Can always add back can't take off as easy.

I was not offered any head cover options in my fitting...and as a huge Cameron guy, I can't believe I didn't ask! I actually like the white PLD Milled head cover better than the black one that is coming with the Customs. But...a few months ago I secured a PING putter cover knowing that I'd pull the trigger on a PLD Custom at some point...

My PLD is here! I've been doing a SBST stroke the last couple of years but Alex said I'm a strong arc and very consistent putter. Haven't taken it out to the course b/c my season is done (getting my neck better) but rolling it at home is a dream.

Only one option right now. Back in the beginning of Aug , Alex said in the future they’ll possibly have more options.

Yeah, I had asked about the contour map ones that were featured here from the 3M open. He said maybe soon, but Alex couldn't even get one for himself.
