Hey Guys!

 

Got to go pick up my putter this morning, living in AZ has its perks!

 

Went with a DZB as it has a very similar shape to my favorite putter the D66. Went with the new two tone finish they have been doing a little bit on tour. Top line site and nothing in the back flange. It has my birthday, my name and the ping man on it. Grip wise I went with the PP58 large grip and the graphite ping shaft. Had a tad bit better feel than the steel shaft for me. It’s an amazing putter, Jeff and his team did an amazing job!

What’s the stock head weight of the DZB? Toe hang?

I’m not sure what the stock weight is, mine has tungsten weight in it to bring the weight to 365 at 33.5 length. It hangs about 45 degrees

350 with no added weight in mine.

Just got my PLD ipod, disc, cradle. Holy cow, the disc is heavy, I thought it would be a plastic disc but it is a solid aluminum or something, heavy duty indeed.

My Anser was delivered to the golf shop where I work on Friday, but my wife and I have been moving since Thursday. Finally found some time to sneak over and pick it up.

 

I can't tell you just how happy I am that I switched to glazed donut. I think the oyster finish is awesome and I know I would have been happy with it...but this putter is just perfect to my eye. In direct sunlight, the warmer color really comes through. In cooler light (white bulb) it has a darker look to it, but you can tell it's not grey. 

 

Also...that valuables pouch a few posts back is sick. I definitely wouldn't hate seeing that show up at my house.

Those pics make that finish look really good, makes the decision harder now vs Oyster.

Looks fantastic. Please report back on how the face feels. I prefer firm so I would probably do shallow or no milling. 
I looked at booking in person today for February but they don’t have any appointments listed yet for that far out

Feel is fantastic. As a reference point...the PLD Milled Anser with deep AMP that you could find in stores felt just a little soft for me. Not bad, though. The shallow is just a tad firmer sounding/feeling than the deep, which nails what I was looking for.

FYI they limit it to only 2 months out on their booking system.  I did email customer service about booking further out since I had to book a flight for work and they were able to do that.

The engraving is so limited. I wish they told you that upfront. Sounds like they'll be expanding options in the future but may hold off on officially ordering

This is the best putter I've seen come out of this PLD program. You sir have good taste. This is exactly what I would want if I ever had the spare $$$.

I really like the PLD graphite shaft. I have owned several of the other low-torque graphite putter shafts and the PLD version is super stable. I've got a LAGP One35 in a custom Carbon putter and an MMT putter shaft I put into a 50th anniversary PING Anser -- so I'm definitely familiar with the competition. The PLD shaft is stiffer than the MMT and I would say arguably stiffer than the LAGP too. Very stable and very smooth.

What’s the difference between carbon and stainless? Is it primarily a cosmetic difference or are there performance differences as well. Just trying to be as prepared as I can be before I build mine later this month.

curious - what did you end up for lie? My fitting lie was about the same (~4-5* flat) but that seems like a lot 🙂
