Broken Ventus TR

Not sure if it’s related but these shafts are all breaking where the shaft is clamped to put the grip on. Any chance that improper clamping force has been used on these to increase breakage chances?

This point was covered early on by a few of us. On reflection, maybe the apparent denial of responsibility by Fuji for breakages in this area is due to the possibility you mention. Maybe they have mentioned this in conditions of sale or upon here. 

 

I believe I said that I don’t use a clamp when regripping. Having said this, I must have had numerous shafts clamped over 40 years of graphite shafts and can’t recall any breakages of this type.

On Sept. 10th at the 2nd hole of 36 for the day my Ventus blue 5-S broke in the same spot and I thought the location was odd. Then I stumble upon this thread, go figure.

Just fitted into tsr3 and ventus tr blue 6x and decided not to order due to breaks any shafts similar?

I will say the replacement I ordered hasn’t given me any issues and I’ve had it for a while now. I tried to go to other makes and models but this one fits me best. It seems like it was a first batch issue that has been rectified as there seemed to be a glut of breaks and then it completely died down.

I could be wrong, but i'm pretty sure this isn't a paint scheme change. The top one just looks like a render/photoshopped version to better highlight the weave under the logo. I've never seen one in the wild actually look like the top one.

I have had my replacement for quite awhile now. No issues and plenty of rounds played.

The main reason I hesitated was I have never fitted a blue profile in driver before 🤣

FYI the Ventus "Blue" is not a typical MCA/Fuji "Blue" Profile.

It is VERY similar to MCA "White" Profile.

I know the ventus velocore blue 6/7/8x felt like boiled spaghetti when I hit them during a fitting a few years ago a white profile they did not feel like to me for sure. Ymmv 🤷‍♂️

Yeah that does look like the photo you posted, interesting. I'm not sure if it's a trick based on position but it also looks physically much larger, although that wouldn't really make sense.

Fuji's little EI Zone description thing suggests this, and it was sort of parroted when the Blue was first announced as the only Ventus shaft, but every EI profile we've seen, both Fuji's and third party ones show that it is a very typical Blue profile and nothing like a White. This is also supported by the fact that common Blue profile users on tour use it and I haven't seen any normally "White" profile users bag them. I'd like to see someone with S3 Database access post a comparison to support that as well, @03trdblack?

I don't see much whiteboard profile in the Ventus Blue or Ventus TR blue.

went to the range today and hit about 60 balls with the TR Blue (still one piece thank god) and it definitely feels a touch livelier than my Tensei 1K white, but not much....noticed a slightly lower ball flight as well which I hope will translate to the course...great shaft, had a regular black before and if the TR black is even firmer than I don't see a need to have to try it as the TR blue is in the middle between blue and black as advertised.

TR blue has sparkly glitter paint, blue does not

You need to line them up so that the same area of each shaft is side by side. This pic obviously shows different areas of each shaft.
