I asked him the same thing Wednesday….he must be related to Greg….just spews whatever sounds good for their exhibition “tour”.

LIV Adelaide is their most successful event

Norman is Australian and a highly successful developer of golf course estates

Australia has a massive shortage of housing and golf courses

Not rocket science

Btw, potential buyers don’t take out ads 🤣

So still nothing to show us?  Fair enough.

Greg may be “highly successful” in Australia but not here in Phoenix.  He designed the high end club Mirabel originally as a daily fee course with, cough cough, 45 acres of grass. Entire course was redone and is now the private club …and playable.

https://archive.lib.msu.edu/tic/gcnew/article/2001sep11b.pdf

Also,  it was intended for Norman to design a second course at Quintero…that it never happened is not entirely his fault but the “name” did nothing to attract more members.

Point being a “massive shortage of housing and golf courses” does not necessarily mean Norman is the savior.

Who said anything about him being a saviour?

Australia needs millions of new houses immediately and many new courses so anything LIV does will be a drop in the ocean

It’s a business opportunity & he’s a golf course developer

Fact

I own a golf course and was approached

Miniature Golf Course doesn't count.

It’s their only ‘successful’ event, and only in terms of getting some fans to the course.  And LIV still loses money on that event, just like they do on every other event they put on.

beat me to it... 🤣

Not sure what a few golf courses does to create millions of houses but I’d still like to see some links to these homes and courses Greg is building.

Golf courses are generally the centrepiece of large scale developments

Very few courses are built as stand alone projects because virtually all lose money

This is an Australian development with a Norman course

Not sure how a development that's 35 years in the making is helping Oz build "millions of new houses immediately".

Greg designed the golf course. Has nothing to do with the development of the project. I'd venture a guess it wouldn't have mattered who designed the golf course.

Norman has designed 100+ courses and that’s 1 example I randomly picked

Feel free to pick another

If it didn’t matter who designed the course then why do Norman, Nicklaus, etc  get paid to do it?

Cool…the best example is a 35 year old development?  That’s 7years before the Masters flop.

Is our perception of LIV being molded by The Golf Channel? My thoughts are starting to turn that way. Never really gave LIV the chance because I was getting my golf news from a corporate entity that whole existence is based on a strong PGA Tour. Besides now BC is speaking like the money from the Saudis to the Tour is now okay. Think I’ll start watching LIV to give it a chance.

It’s common knowledge that the Saudi economy isn’t in great shape and hasn’t been for years plus those giga projects have always been massive black holes

Abu Dhabi could afford to build a giga project on Yas Island because they’re just as rich but only need to support 550k citizens while there’s 37 million Saudis looking for a better lifestyle

And that’s without considering the respective attractiveness of the 2 as destinations

If it's common knowledge that the economy isn't great, is giving Jon Rahm 500 million a good idea?

Abu Dhabi is as irrelevant as Monaco.
