Edit: Love the setup by the way. Particularly the putter. I actually ordered the same one the second I saw this; it's exactly what I'm looking for. 

 

Curious though-Penny is not poor and he has some name recognition. How did he get fit into DTC clubs? Usually Taylormade or Callaway are all over guys like him.

Probably has something to do with all the custom engraving on the backs of the iron/wedge heads.  Maybe sub 70 was able to do it themselves, or it could just come down to finding heads that had enough space for the Memphis logos.

I used to see him playing with his group around Memphis. The head pro I worked for gave Penny lessons when he first started playing so whenever he played he always came to chat. Super nice guy who does a ton for the Memphis community. I think he was in PXG the last time I saw him. He was passing out a stack of PXG hats to his group.

I have a Shaq jersey and my cousin has a Hardaway jersey.  Both Orlando Magic.  Got mine when I was in high school and it still fits.  I wear it when I hit the gym.  We were huge fans back in the day.

 I'm a  Celtics fan but always appreciated that Magic team.    I was on vacation with my family in 1996 (I was in high school)  and was in a  sporting goods store in Orlando when Shaq had his press conference announcing he was signing with the Lakers.  As soon as the press conference started, the store manager came running out and said  "He sold us out, we're selling him out."  They immediately started cutting prices on all Shaq merchandise.  The authentic jerseys that were selling for $250 got reduced to $40 on the spot.  I bought an authentic blue pinstripe  Shaq jersey immediately. In hindsight, I wish I had bought a black one.   I had that jersey  for 10 years or so and ended up selling it on ebay  for $150.   In hindsight, I wish I had kept it.

Mine's the black one that that has the white pin stripes on it.  The lettering and number is stitched on.  My mother got it for me and it was 120 if I remember right.  Not sure how much they go for now, but it's still in good condition.

Yep, mine was stitched too  (all the authentic ones were stitched then).  The replicas didn't have the pinstripes then and the authentics  didn't have the Champion "C" logo on the left sleeve, just the larger NBA  logo.

What a neat bag. Can tell he’s serious about his golf bag, a lot of little touches throughout. Cool to see a little dtc brand get some love. A lot going on with the top of that putter.

Love seeing the Sub 70's. Those are great looking irons that look even better in person. Well done y'all! 

 

P.S Yes those irons are the spitting image of my B-stone J40's & that's a good thing!

I believe everything was done by @wedge_fx from Instagram. Stinks Nike went under he used to play all of their clubs and had some VR Combo blades with pennies in the cavities
