Just a bump in the road, it seemed like it was moving too fast. Plus hopefully TW can chill and keep rehabbing to play more actual golf ; )

Postponed until 2025?  With the people and money involved in this venture this is a surprise.  I don’t think we’re getting the full story.

 it was probably behind schedule and was going to be coming in hot with very little time to test the setup. they got lucky with the bad weather in florida giving them an excuse and if the dome hadnt deflated they would have blamed the weather for a construction delay ;}

And it makes sense, the launch was rushed, the were still closing deals on selling the franchises and signing players. 
 

Then the announcement they were starting in just a couple of months was sudden and barely promoted 
 

The delay gives them the opportunity, beyond being sure the venue is dependable lol, and most importantly 

 

For Tiger Rory and the rest of the top ranked players who are in TGL to promote and pump it up during the actual PGA Tour season

I think there are some issues with the logistics, it seems the teams are based on who is free what weeks and the fact all matches are at one venue in Florida is an issue -  as seen by what happened to the venue obviously, but would have made more sense you'd think if it was sacrificed a little bit of the sophistication of the 'tech-infused' venue to bring it on the road, for example to the same cities as a PGA Tour event is on.

Pretty safe to say it was behind schedule, not yet having the air handling (inflation) equipment on permanent power, not having back up power (typically natural gas), the condition of the site, etc.  That's not to say that it couldn't have come together in time but they were definitely cutting it close at best.  If a dome deflates over a tennis court or sports field, it's generally no big deal.  Just fire the equipment back up and re-inflate it.  TGL needs a new dome now since it was torn apart by all of the infrastructure set up in the dome when it came down.  These domes are just a polyester vinyl membrane.  Now, they're going to have to get a new dome fabricated, remove just about everything that was in place within the original dome, install/inflate the new dome and re-install everything within the dome....lighting, screens, poles, nets, sound, stands, testing, inspections, etc.  That's months worth of work.

I was genuinely looking forward to viewing this (still am if it happens) but what a shambles.

 

As an example why on earth would they build such a flimsy structure in that area of the US or any area subject to extreme weather events?

 

Perhaps it is quite difficult to get a tour/league/exhibition/series in operation after all?

 

Shows what a decent job the LIV folk did.

I wonder if they got “the letter” from the PGA Tour that if they hit a golf ball and it’s broadcast in any way for profit, the Tour needs to get their cut and give them permission to stay out after 9PM on a school night?

Very disappointed to hear about this setback.  Was hoping that TGL would be an outlet for all the nitwits who needed a dumbed-down golf venue where they could treat every shot as though it was the tee ball on 16 at Phoenix.  Because that's how to really grow the game.   MASHED POTATOES!   BABA BOOEY!

The tour already owned as much equity in the league as the players, they were definitely going to get their cut.

Something fishy here. With all the money involved, I can't believe they couldn't repair the damage or find an alternative venue.

 

I wonder if they read the comments on here and realized if WRX'ers weren't interested, then the general public certainly wouldn't be.

nothing that fishy how many images of the venue did they actually publish prior to the collapse. none cause the venue wasnt done enough to even show off in preview form. and even if they got in a new circus tent they still have to finish the inside of the venue in 8 weeks.
