Awesome, thanks very much for taking the time to do that for us man!

Beautiful clubs for sure!

Interesting that it looks like the soles are wider and blade length is longer in the short & mid-irons vs the long-irons since it’s usually the other way around with most sets. Is that just the camera angle, or is that how it looks in person also?

Maybe Srixon is doing that so they blend better with the ZX4 & ZX5 MK II’s in the long irons and make the ZX7 MK II’s less intimidating for people considering going that route?

Pleasure, hope it helps! I was on a conference call and decided it was better spent taking pics and listening haha.

I read that they have worked hard to make it easier to get the blended sets to flow. Makes sense as its a very popular option, specifically with the ZX7 / ZX5 combo... The top line is pretty similar to the Mizuno, only less bevelled... so the Srixon looks a bit thicker... But its minimal - looks nice and solid.

Blade length is "the same" so millimeters at best. Soles are wider in the short irons and then get thinnest to 4 iron. I know the ZX5 blade length is a few mm longer so if you blend you would have that slightly bigger footprint from the ZX5.

Thanks for this! I received my ZX5s but considering ordering ZX7s in 7-PW just because I am so used to MP32/MP4 sole width. The size of the ZX7 looks great.

Does anyone know if the AW typically plays more like an iron set wedge or a specialty wedge? I tend to sky specialty wedges too much for full shots, so need something for my gapping.

I have the AW for the Z785. Plays more like an iron wedge / MB style. I don't find it all too different though from a TM MG3. It sits nicely in between. It's definitely much more bladed than the PW.

Interesting no first generation ZX7 irons, only ZX4 and 5. There much be some ZX7 irons in stock north of the border?!?

Srixon is known for quality irons at a reasonable price, the price point has increased with the second generation $1,600 not sure how that compares with the other big brands or if the prices are also up in the USA.

You can order customized first generation ZX7 iron from an authorized Srixon dealer, not big box retailer. I did not have any problems doing so.

I currently play ZX5 4-6 and ZX7 7-PW and am on the fence of upgrading. I personally like the lower spin on the old gen heads because I generate a lot of spin with mid and short irons. I can't see spending $1100 to lose a few yards over what I have. I will say I am super happy with the new woods and picked up the ZX5 LS driver, zx 3 wood, and zx 7 wood. I was a big fan of the prior gen stuff and the woods just feel like a big improvement to me, especially having a 7 wood option now.

Got out for some range time and 13 holes with my new MkII woods and irons.  Feel and performance was amazing.  I don’t say this lightly but these are the best irons I’ve ever had in the bag.

I went with the ZX4 in the 4 iron and ZX7 in 5-PW.

Can someone verify club length measurement? Does Srixon measure to end of shaft or grip (or something weird like Mizuno)?

I can't remember exactly, but I believe they measure pre-grip. One way or the other, Srixon irons are about 1/4" longer than Titleist or TM for the same stated length.

I think it is a little different, as mine came in ~0.5" longer then I was expecting. But I ended up liking the extra length. If you want I might be able to take a picture of it so you can see where the measurement is from? Although if you have a golf store nearby the easiest way would be to go in and see how the shafts compare. What are you playing right now?

Most recently played Titleist irons which I would say measure "correct" for length. Had a set of Mizuno irons before them which measured 1/4" longer than expected. 1/2" long is a big difference though!

After hearing they are a bit longer, I ordered 1/2" over. I normally play 3/4" over. They were the same length as my Ping i210's that were 3/4" over.

They measure off cut lengths so depending on grip it will be 1/8" to 1/4" over standard measurement on bench ruler to end of grip.  I have a set of ZX5 and ZX7 and a ZX4 4 iron, they are all perfect and are all within a 1/4 of a SW of each other at D3 final build.  Top notch.
