So weird that my 1k orange is like not counterbalanced. I used it again yesterday and hit some bombs and it feels very smooth so it’s gotta be real but don’t think these are as counterbalanced as people think.

1K Orange is pretty heavy for its weight designation, which offsets some of what its higher balance point offers in terms of swingweight. 
 

Like you say, the difference between 1K Orange and 1K White (for example) is not as significant as one might expect given the 1K Orange is explicitly marketed as counterbalanced.

Yeah the other thing I thought of is… I have a tx shaft. So they probably had to put more material around the tip or something to make it stiffer which would add swing weight points because the tip section carrying more weight. Could be wrong.

So after consistently singing the praises of the Max throughout this thread, the LST is currently in my bag. 
 

Whilst I maintain that the Max protects you more on a bad swing, I feel the LST rewards you more on a good swing. It’s more ‘solid’, stronger ballflight, easier (at least for me) to move the ball left to right in a controlled manner when required, more fade biased / less draw biased than the Max, etc. all of which mean it has the potential to be a better fit for me… and perhaps even more confidence inspiring at address as a result. 
 

Currently paired with the 1K White 60s, stock back weight, playing ~45” at a swingweight of around D4.5. 
 

G425 LST was probably my preferred driver from the last couple of years, so I shouldn’t be that surprised that I’m quickly warming to the G430 LST.

I dabbled again with the LST, but the Max is just so easy and consistent that it will remain in the bag for the season. It seems much quicker and lower spin than previous Max models. Will undoubtedly tinker with shafts but the 2.0 Chrome is a great match.

I see you have the Kail'Li white in your fairway wood and Hybrid, any reason its not in your driver?

During the fitting, no. My TR Blue will be arriving next week. I’m waiting to check the swing weight and have a 19g weight I might pop in, though.

Is anyone having trouble putting enough spin on the LST? I’ve never had any issues spinning any heads out there no matter what they are. I’ve always played 9° drivers and tweak the sleeve a little and the shaft a little to get good numbers usually around 12 launch and 2200-2400 spin. I launch the 9 LST 12.5-13 but the spin is like 1800. No matter the Kaili White, Black, or chrome. I notice a lot of their tour staff are using the 10.5 not many in the 9. 
 

Any of you guys have the same issue? If you did what did you do? go up to the 10.5 or add some loft to the 9°?

Play higher loft in LST heads in general- especially 430

Yes. Kaili felt too loose and I’m not a fast swinger 105SS

The LST was like Thor’s hammer with the Kai’Li - came in somewhere in the D6-D7 range I seem to recall.  I didn’t feel I could generate my speed potential with it, although it did feel super stable to be fair. 
 

Already had the 1K White and built that at 45”, and it feels just ‘right’. Numbers are good and recent on course performance on the good swings has been phenomenal, so sticking with the 1K White for the LST’s trial period which I suspect will soon become permanent.

Debating on the Max in a 9* turned to 8* and flat or an LST 10.5 turned down and flat. 
 

Think I will start with the black 2.0 65 X as I am playing a Ventus black 6x in a Titleist head at the moment.

The great ping employee that I know wanted me to play the lst in 10.5, small minus, or the max in 9. I opted for the 9 lst and now play it small minus with orange 1k. Won a long drive with it. It’s a great setup. Maybe a little lower launch, but doesn’t want to go left at all. Have to work to turn it over. Definitely made the right call not getting the 10.5. Face being a little shallow and head being a little smaller the only thing I’m not quite used to is teeing it up really high.

I’ve had the 430 Max 9* and LST in 9* and 10.5*.  Played the Max on 9* flat and 8* flat and also big minus 7.5*.  Always had trouble with the start line being left even in the flat settings.  The LST was much better, played the 10.5* on big minus and the 9* on standard and flat.  9* was a bit low in both launch and spin but I got the best ball speed of the bunch.  10.5* gave me better launch and spin but lost a bit of ball speed.  I actually hit the LST more consistently with tighter dispersion.  I’ve never gotten along with Max MOI drivers for some reason.  All were played with the Tour 2.0 Black 65X.  I’m also a long time Ventus Black user and got along very well with the Tour Black.

 

All that being said, no combination of G430 could compete with either the TSR3 or Paradym Triple Diamond.  Both had 3-4 more mph ball speed vs the LST and 6-7 vs the Max, with little to no loss in dispersion.  Settled on the Paradym TD, TSR3 edged it out on ball speed and total distance by a little but the Paradym had a bit tighter dispersion.

1k orange 65tx slightly lower launch that tour 2.0 black. Seems to be working well.

I play the 9 have messed around with standard, small minus and big minus. Should probably play standard.

Tested the Max and LST. Didn’t see much of a spin difference between the two. If that’s the case the Max is the No brainer. As usual, with Ping my swing speed and ball speed down a bit with the heavier club.

Agreed. But the reason why is the Max is draw biased a bit and so it’s a lower spin profile because of it, where as the LST maintains the same lowish spin but if you like to also hit fades

I think the reason people go for the LST even though spin is a moot point between the two is for head shape and sound/feel. I found the max a little louder than the max and prefer the headshape of the LST

I have Diamana GT and pro orange both in 60tx. GT works better with my LST because it launches a little higher. I did lower the back weight in the 10.5 LST to get the GT swing weight to desired number, but no measurable impact from that change. Could game either GT or pro Orange but just liking the flight of the GT better.

Currently playing with g430 max 10.5, one down flat with tour ad di x6. Messed around with ventus Blue TR x6 in it hitting the driver well, have a lst 10.5 head on the way. Also have a weight set I'm using, went heavier than standard. 107 swing speed. Hope to get my spin rate down a little gain some more yards. Came from a 410 plus 10.5

Ventus TR blue 7X feels great in LST head.  Weight is perfect and I can feel the clubhead.  I liked the Ping Tour Black 75X but the Ventus is more stable and forgiving...and longer.

Played with two D1 sticks over the weekend and both are gaming the Ping G430 LST. Both cited the forgiveness and keeping it in play but being still low spin as reasons why they and a few other teammates game it. Loving my TSR3 but seriously considering grabbing one just to try 😄
