Callaway Paradym driver - 2022 QBE Shootout

Any idea if Callaway would put a heavier weight on the standard head if I order the club 1 inch short?  I would want the swing weight to remain standard but play my driver a bit shorter than the 45.75 inches listed.

Can confirm. The standard weight is 15g, but my fitting kit included both a 21g and 9g sliding weight. The sliders say how heavy they are on them, so it can be visually verified.

When ordering something that specific, recommend the technique of calling the order in. People are human and sometimes minute details like that can still get overlooked, but calling the order in may help prevent that.

Most professional long drive guys do

Yep. Crazy to see they’re not enough close enough to play on tour. Forgot what video I was watching, but they had someone from the Champions tour (mid to late 50s) play a 9 holes or a round against two long drivers (20s-early 30s) for 9 holes. Long drivers killed the Champions player off the tee as expected, but in the end Champions player dusted both of them on the scorecard and wasn’t even close.

Indoor fitting facility where I practice had the new heads in. Had to try them.

So, I am a wrx'er at heart, so I don't need an excuse to look at a new driver, but legitimately, I put in the auto-flex on my epic speed after I had bought that head and while I love it and gained distance with AF, the shaft did add to my launch/spin and I'm hoping the new line would help.

Performance did not blow me away, but it was better, specifically TD weight in the front. There were definitely performance gains, by the time I had dialed it in my SS was down 2mph just being tired but i was still peaking in carry. While better, I doubt I'm going to see much more than 3-5 yards, everything is better (launch/spin) but nothing mind-blowing.

What I loved was the feel/stability. I was not expecting the TD to be forgiving but I had no problems with it. The added launch and spin of my AF probably helps here, but I was hitting my straightest shots.

Looks wise, I liked the pictures, I love it in person. It's the first Callway driver that I love the looks of in a long time.

Honestly, it's a luxury upgrade, I don't expect any big changes, but very likely I'll pull the trigger and upgrade.

Maybe a stupid question. I just got fitted at club champion on Tuesday and they put me into a Callaway ST Max LS driver with a Raijin 2.0 65 X shaft.I had no idea the Paradym was coming out so soon. Would my numbers translate if I kept the shaft and switched the heads or would I need to be fitted again for that head.

johnny wunder is on instagram live at the moment and I asked him about the bigger weight being moved to the back in the Diamond. He said a lot of tour guys are doing that as well.

FWIW, I have yet to see a professional player using a Callaway driver with a heavy weight forward and a light weight in back. Closest to that I’ve seen is very similar weights in both ports.

I hit the Paradym TD against the TSR3 yesterday and as much as I wanted the Paradym to win, TSR3 was 3-4 mph faster.

Paradym TD is extremely consistent with spin and carry, but ball speed didn’t once get to what I was averaging with the TSR3.

My question what didn’t have you hit the Paradym? It was available to demo

Quite common. Not like orders for fits done prior are going to be turned down.

Demoed the Triple Diamond today. The head shape is fantastic and the color looked much better in person. In my opinion this is a slightly less forgiving and but much better feeling TSR4. However, in my hands the Cally is the lowest spinning driver I have ever tested. Knuckle bombs were fun to hit, but I haven't seen this many no spin balls dive bombs since the SLDR days. If you button your driver or are a high spin player the TD could be perfect. Regarding performance, I saw zero ball speed increase over my Rogue Max LS.

Spin was about the same. 2200ish. Just couldn’t get the Paradym over 171 ball speed.

Same lofts. Different shafts. Club head speed was the same, just less ball speed from the Paradym.

My concern with PTD is the spin. In the reviews I’ve seen it seems like guys are lifting up and just barely getting enough spin.

I was going to possibly get a PTD in 10.5 but feel like I would need a Ventus TR Red 6x instead of the blue to aid with launch and spin.

I typically play 7.5-8* drivers. I could not spin the 9* head. I didn’t try the 10.5, but even lifting up ~3* from my gamers I’m not confident I could get spin high enough to be playable for my game.

So wierd how clubs fit one person to the next different. I had Trip d rogue st. Spring time i was smashing it 240 on average probably. Seeing 250 260 270 280 even on perfect shots. Come summer... my numbers started to dip way down it was wierd. I also thought it sat very closed for a supposedly neutral sitting driver. The feeling and sound tho was A+. Got rid of it. I know my version of smashing drives is not so much smashing to others but for me it is. Lol

How is the paradym comparing to the rogue max LS model? Surprise to see no LS model this year.

Still in testing phase, but i should have more info soon.  With the weight in the front PTD is a beast, but a little hard to control (for me) comparted to Max LS, which was a point and shoot driver.  Working with the weights right now to see if I can find the happy place.   If not, I may find a reg Paradym to test.  After seeing some reviews, it seems like the Paradym is very comparable to Max LS in that its low spin and high moi
