@touch, The grips on my Wilson Staffs are Lamkin Crossline, I also have them on several other sets of irons. My clubs are forged.

 

I was watching the WBC final tonight. Ohtani striking out Trout at the end to win was great theatre.

 

For @chisag, don’t fret over all those sets of irons, I am not exactly sure how many I have 😀.

Simply the best rubber grips I've ever played in over 40 years of golf. Their durability is incomparable and they maintain their grip until you cut them off. Depending on the model you select they're as soft as a Tour Velvet or can be as firm as 5 year old weathered MMC's. For firmness sake, the Pros I play feels similar to a Lamkin Crossline Cord.

 

I play a lot of golf, daily if the weather permits. I have been able to get over 400 rounds out of a set of these without compromising grip and comfort. I'll continue to buy them until someone makes a better rubber grip.

Yankees! You used to be able to get bleacher seats for so cheap, was like 10 bucks early 90s. The “seranades” the bleacher fans would chant to the opposing right fielder were vile beyond comprehension, make a sailor cringe. 
 

And it was nuts, one time these Boston fans came in, they were big dudes, walked in like they owned the place. They walked out covered in beer and half eaten hot dogs 🤣. Then one time these blonde chicks walked in, they must have been tourists from Sweden or something. They took one look at the bleacher crowd, who were all drooling, and turned right around and walked out!

 

But I remember a birthday party when I was little, like 10 of us, we sat in the bleachers. I was sitting all the way to the right, next to this chain link fence that separated the bleached seats from this big section of seats that were painted black that was never open for seating. Reggie steps up!

He hit a ball that looked like it went straight up into the stratosphere. But…it kept drifting and rising towards us! It finally started to descend and fall right over us and juuuuust fell over that link fence into the black painted seats, HR! Very rare to hit it there.
But I’ll never forget as the ball fell, you could hear it sizzling like frying eggs! Had never heard like that sound off  a baseball before.

Bummer - as someone who has had 3 back surgeries, I can relate to how debilitating back pain can be. Follow doc’s instructions and take it slow.

When I had my back injection, I was completely unprepared for what it involved. Doc told me he was scheduling me for a shot in my back, so I didn’t think too much about it. My first issue was at the hospital, when they asked for a $100 copay. (This was almost 25 years ago, so that was significantly more than the normal copay.) I tried to explain that I was only getting a shot, but in the end I just paid it. Then they took me to a pre-surgical prep room and had me gown up. I was like, WTF, I’m just getting a shot. Then they wheeled me into a surgery room and there were 5 people in there, all gowned and masked. I reached both arms out and tried to grab the door frame, yelling “you’ve got the wrong guy! I’m only here for a shot!”

 

My doctor recommended 12 months of PT, but then I found another doc who said I’d be back to normal in 3 months after surgery, so that’s what I opted for. First surgery did nothing, so I had another one 3 months later. Second one helped some, but serious pain was back in less than a year. I went back to my original doc who said PT would no longer be a solution. He was reluctant to do the surgery because of liability issues based on the prior surgeries, but he ultimately agreed to do it. While I’ve had some minor flare ups over the years, my back has been great, even though the doc said I’d probably be back in 10 years or so. That was almost 25 years ago and I’m very active - probably too active for my age. 🙂

 

The doc who finally performed successful surgery? Dr. Richard Guyer of the Texas Back Institute. Same guy who finally fixed Tiger’s back issues. The whole six degrees of separation thing must be true!

Definitely be careful with the old back and follow the orders of the doctor, apparently it isn't uncommon to end up right back in there as triplelindy notes above.

 

I had my first in '89 on L5, the micro was new then so they had me lay on the floor for 3 months prone.  I wasn't supposed to sit up which would cause the goo to come out of the hole they had put in.  The doctor told me if I didn't stop playing sports, at that point I was playing in college, I would be back in about 15 years.

 

In '01, the hard scar tissue on L5 released into the sciatic nerve and cut off 75% of the nerve.  I knew exactly what had happened, had to go through the GP to be referred to the specialist.  GP puts me on oxy, thankfully I hated it, and waited 10 days.  The surgeon does the strength tests, says let me look at the MRI, comes back into the room and asks if have eaten today.  I had half a sandwich, its tough to eat on oxy, and he says bummer because I would have done it right now.  Instead I was in the next morning.  I had to stretch, forbidden 13 years earlier, before I could leave the hospital.  He told me I had to quit playing soccer.

 

In '17, I had my third, but it was up one.  Random call to golf by a Dr friend and I tell him the deal with my back.  He says he will check the MRI.  Calls his buddy who calls me on Sunday afternoon after looking at the MRI, tells me to take gabapentin (it won't work but you have to take if for 3 days before I can justify it to the insurance company), see you Tuesday.  I have the room booked for Thursday morning, it was the earliest we could get it.  L4 apparently is somehow attached to the bladder, so I waited those 4 days with a dishtowel in my pants, it was awful.  The Dr. does the surgery, says it is the biggest rupture and "material removal" he has seen in 21 years, he even took a picture of it which I will attach in a second.  He told me I was stupid for playing anything and made me quit hockey.  So the next one will be the end of my golf I suspect, which is why I am trying to hit the courses while I can still get the ball airborne.

 

If you got this far... don't be like P3P and dont be stupid.

i'd keep my t100 FORGED 4-6 and then go 620cb FORGED 7-p.  i think the 6 or 7 would need to be bent a degree one way or the other.

 

that being said, i do have a set of mizzy mp33 2-p that i picked up for like $100 that i've been meaning to get refinished and reshafted as a fun project.
