Buddy of mine in FL has played some golf with Rory, and has one of Rorys Vokey 60* from what he told me Rory will have Aaron Dill make him a wedge he likes, he'll give it to the TM guys to duplicate, and no matter what they do the wedge doesn't play as well as the Vokey does.  It's funny that some of these guys will play gear that doesn't work as well for them as others just to appease a sponsor.

Heard a radio interview from Faxon saying Rory called the Don Cameron asking for 2 putters the 009 blade and a T5.5 variation of what JT and Cantlay uses.

I hear ya but the majority of golfers (not on WRX) like a long alignment line on their putters....it's almost a reason why mallets exist in the first place

The only putter OEM that I could find that had that option with the topline alignment was Odyssey with the #1 style putter.  I wanted a milled Anser style with that option a few years ago, and the Kingston KP1 was the only one I could find that option for that wasn't going to break the bank.  That's a putter that I'll never get rid of.

you're right. as a matter of fact, I think ALL of us deserve pro v left dots, tour calibrated driver heads, custom grind wedges AND circle t scottys. anyone opposed say nay

He'd at least have won the Open last year. I've never seen someone actively trying to win a major miss as many putts as he did on that Sunday.

I'm guessing he's on a 12 club minimum with them, because he switched his 54 back to a TM model, but kept the 60T.

Owning both a 5.5 and a hydroblast the Spider X is miles ahead for me.  Let’s see what Rory does

I totally agree.

 

According to a post I read on here a few years ago, it's all driven by sales (surprise, surprise). That is, the overwhelming majority of golfers buy putters with the sightline in the cavity as that's what they think they need (and therefore what sells), regardless of whether it helps them aim better or not.

 

Conversely, putters with sight lines or sight dots on the top sell a fraction of the amount, hence you have to order one custom option (if you're lucky).

When you say a toppling alignment on a blade, do you mean across the flange and all the way down the cavity? If you're a lefty, I have one that could be yours.

I just mean top line only like what’s on Rory’s putter right now and what Spieth has always had on his Cameron.

All I know is I watched him all day today and he seemed so much more comfortable over a putt than he has in a while. Stroke looked smoother, less mechanical. 

Looks like the confidence is pretty high with the new blade and his pre shot with the line and all. We shall see at Augusta.

I feel like he always does this. Looks really good right before the Masters and lets us down. Next to Tiger would love to see him win the green jacket.

He played really well this whole week. He should have won his morning match but Cameron young fought hard. He gave it everything to best Rory. You could tell because he had nothing left to play burns and got roasted.

He's one of those players that can use any putter, any shape. It's all about the line and speed - he got both of those wrong on occasions yesterday and all week. Putting looked great, just too easy to blame the putter when the line is wrong.

You can get a SC Jet Set Newport or Newport 2 with the top line just like Rory and Speith. Yes they're limited run putters, but still pretty easy to get.

If he would have kept using the Spider he would have won the Masters going away.  I dislike this change.  Who knows, maybe he still will.

Interesting to hear. There was clearly a Scotty mallet in the bag when he arrived at Austin CC. Was thinking either a 5.5 or even a 9.5 would be a great fit coming from Spider X. I'm sure it just went right into the locker for the week.
