Not so. The early round coverage on Sunday on GC mentioned they lightly watered the greens after the 3rd round Saturday.

Technically watered as mentioned, but they also spoke about the fact they were pretty much pushing the greens as far as they could because it didn't matter if they couldn't come back from this week due to the upcoming renovation.

True. Just like The Memorial did a few years back before Jack renovated Muirfield Village again. Colonial put some water on them Saturday evening in spite of what some think.

Gutted for Schenk. He’s from my parents hometown. My uncle knows him. 
 

But he had two putts to win and didn’t make them - all you can ask for really.  
 

Schenk has two runner up finishes this year. He’s also 29th in the FedEx cup.  He’ll get a win eventually. 

 

Imagine Adam Schenk making every elevated event and not JT or Hideki.

Has anyone seen the renovation plans for Colonial CC? I cannot find them. Very interested in what Hanse will do there.  I understand that very few trees will be removed and the the 9s will be reversed.

Colonial is installing a hydronics system on each green that can circulate warm or cool water to alter the temperature of the soil, the essential ingredient to a healthy putting surface.

 

The trees aren’t coming back. Neither are some bunkers, many of which will be removed. In its place will be rough, light enough for amateurs but thickened during tournament week. Just about every green will be lowered and “more receptive as targets.”

 

The biggest changes will be to holes eight and 13, both par 3s.

 

No. 8 will be brought back to its former self, with the green shifted to the left to bring the creek into play.

 

No. 13, a gathering place for failed AA members during the tournament, will also get a makeover.

Hanse called the changes on those holes “dramatic.”

 

The fairway on No. 5, as good of a hole as any you will play, will be leveled on the left side. Trees will be removed on the right side, so, by 2024, you will be able to watch your ball fly into the Trinity River. Right now, it’s hard to even know the Trinity was over there.
