New Mizuno t24 wedges

These wedges look amazing. I've been using them for a few weeks now. I am going to sell the set I have, as I'm not loving them. They look so good but they are very round. I tend to get along better with more square style wedges/irons. I also don't really think they feel that great. Seem a bit clicky and hard. I don't think they are butter like everyone describes mizuno as. For me personally, the only thing I like about them is the looks. But I do think this is a winner for mizuno. Just not for me.

Which grind is similar to a Vokey T grind?  I've had T22 & T24 & love them.

Probably the Mizzy X grind.  Not sure exactly where sits when compared to the Vokey T vs L, but it should play similarly - low bounce, high amounts of relief.

I've said it previously, but once I was able to finally hold one in person, the Mizuno X Grind seemed more playable than I originally thought it might for a low bounce wedge.  I didn't find the leading edge to seem be particularly sharp or diggy as sometimes can be the case on these types of wedges.

I play 60* X grind now and love it.  Was curious about the new V grind.  I know the Mizuno V is listed as more bounce than Vokey T, but it looks similar and also the TW grind 60*

Hopefully this helps.  I think typical turf conditions will be a big factor.  If you play off of firmer turf/bunkers, X is the way to go.  V looks more suitable for mushy/soft conditions.  That leading edge looks like it's going to lift up more if you lay the thing wide open.  C looks like it sits between the other two.

Thanks for the image.  I'll probably have to try the V Grind at some point.

Put the 56* v grind into play  recently.

So far, been pleased with bunker and around the green performance. To early

to be completely sold, but gaining confidence with every swing, and like the t24 overall, so far ...

Not my first venture into Mizuno wedges, excellent clubs overall.

Hmm definitely going to have to check these out! Been enjoying the Ping Glide 4.0 but always up to see the latest and greatest. One of the guys I play tournaments against is sponsored by Mizuno so he's singing their praises all over the place. Maybe I should listen? 😆

I did the first stage of my new wedge fitting last night - just to weed out some of the contenders.  I have a new set of irons headed my way (Forged Tec X) to replace my 0311P Gen 4 set - and I lost my 58 degree 0311 Forged wedge this past weekend.  The fitting was done in a Trackman bay, indoors due to a much needed deluge in our area (the outdoor range was closed).  There were two very qualified fitters present (this is not a big box store - but a dedicated golf practice facility).  I've been playing golf for about a year and a half now - and am working hard to bring my index down to a more respectable number - more in line with the State average.  I practice or play just about every day and really enjoy wedge practice above any other aspect of the game.

The fellows were pretty convinced they'd be setting me up with a couple of MG4s when all was said and done - but that was not to be the case.  The MG4s felt fine, looked fine and I hit them well enough - but the clear match for me was the T24s.  I also tried a Ping Glide 4.0 (hated the feel, not crazy about the look) and an SM-9 (the feel was just OK - and the numbers were not as impressive).  I play in the morning a lot - and wet wedge performance is also a big part of the equation for me.  My current wedges are terrible when water is present.

So headed into the next phase - I'll be bringing the 54 D grind and 58 C grind T24s outside for a little turf and sand interaction.  I'll be comparing them to some S23s of the same spec.  I am wondering if the S23s will be a better transition from the GW of the Forged Tec X set. The facility did not have any S23 demos available.  So they called the Miz rep while I was standing there and ordered a couple.  Frankly - neither of the fitters were very high on Mizuno wedges when I arrived - and they did not seem all that familiar with the product line.  The Trackman numbers I was getting - quickly got their attention and one of them stated that he's a convert after he took a few swings himself with the 54.

I spent a little time after we culled the field hitting mostly 80 yard shots - hitting some 30 and 50 yarders plus some chips and flops off the mat.  Compared to my PXG wedges (with no real visable heal or toe relief) - the D and C grinds seemed like a game changer for me.

Still need to settle on a shaft too. My Cobras will have KBS TGI 85s.  The fitter says he'd like to see me in a steel wedge shaft - so probably somethign in the 115g range.

All in all - that was a fun couple of hours.  Looking forward to the next go around.

Curious to see how folks are enjoying these wedges. Are you still liking them? I’m thinking of getting the 54* S grind and 58* C grind. I’d probably bend the 58* to 60* to increase the bounce to 10*. That’s my lob wedge bounce sweet spot.

Callaway AI Smoke Max 10.5* Diamana GT 60 S
Callaway AI Smoke Max 5W Tensei Blue 65 S

Ping G430 4H RDX Red 6.0

Mizuno JPX 923 HMP 5-GW Modus 105S (bent 2* weak)
Callaway Jaws Raw 54* & 58*

The S23's are great. I don't know why they aren't mentioned at all here...

Neither fitter knew anything about them. It's kind of crazy when it is obvious that many folk could benefit from that kind of design.  I'm about to head out to the garage and hit about a hundred shots with them while my turkey breast is on the smoker ....

I'm sure some will be turned off by the looks but they really perform for me. Tons of lefty options (a first for Mizuno) made it an easy decision.

I went Denim Copper 54 to match my TM Hi Toe 60’…but I may pick up a Blue 54 as well to swap back and forth 😬. Mizuno did an excellent job with all their offerings this year.

@Pens #1 fan  I like the denim as well. Picked up a 60 in that finish. I don’t believe they’re intended to rust.

They could as the copper wears and exposes the raw iron below.
