Open de France this week at Le Golf National.

One of the toughest finishing stretch in golf.

Last year Migliozzi hit one of the best shots into the 18th to win

In the field:

Ryan Fox

Billy Horschel

Victor Perez

Min Woo Lee

Robert MacIntyre

Tom Kim

Alexander Bjork

Rob McIntyre is the only Ryder Cupper here, I thought they were having a 'team bonding' in Rome this week?

Interesting the playing situation he is in currently with regards to the DP Tour and other tours events.

Another guy I'm interested in with some choices to make (for different reasons) is Tom Detry. 92nd in the DP points list so in good shape to keep his card but work to do to make the Tour Championship. OTOH, he's 55th in the FedEx standings, so has his PGA card for next year but could qualify for the first 2 signature events by staying in that 51-60 range. He'll be playing his 3rd straight DP Tour event this week

Makes perfect sense for Detry (and others) that split time their on the PGA Tour and DP Tour to play these events in Europe. Since outside of last week and until after the RC the PGA Tour has not had any events for those 51st and higher on the FEC points list since the start of August. Make hay when you can. As for Detry specifically it's hard to believe he has yet to win an event on the DP or PGA Tours.

He is a very nice and humble young man and he can be as understanding as he wants to be. Notice how he says "Here it goes.....", because he has given up.
I personally think that the ignorance of native English speakers about the pronounciation of foreign names is extremely arrogant. It doesn't matter, if somebody's first language is Spanish or German or Italian, when it comes to a person's name, today people from almost everywhere in the world at least try and make an effort to get is as right as their personal arsenal of vowels and consonants allows them to do. Even the French try their best these days. Only the English and the Americans don't.

To be honest, I didn't know anything about this until I heard the starter introduce him as O-Beigh.  But that was one Englishman who at least made the attempt.

Ryan Fox missed the cut this week at the Cazoo......

That's why Tiger Woods most always took the following week (or more) off after a win......

Winning takes a lot out of you.....🙂

Not as much as losing thousands by losing in a matchplay final I can tell you.

How was Laurie Canter able to play in France last week? Didn't the players that left for LIV have to resign from European tour?
It would be good to see him back on this tour as the man can really move it

Not if they paid any fine levied.

No the players were granted a stay on any repercussions last year, then an arbitration ruling earlier this year ruled in favor of the DP Tour. But it was just fines, not suspensions. Guys like Otaegui have been playing all season. And they've all paid their fines....except Sergio.

There is an article on Golf Digest from August that explains his current situation. I would link it but the link would likely be removed by a Mod. In Google search "Golf Digest Laurie Canter" and it should be the first story linked.

what needs to improve for me to be a huge fan. TV coverage as in camera work and tracing ball tech like we get in the USA.

the tracing ball tech is contractually exclusive i believe so in order for that to improve either more events need to be co-sanctioned or a competing 3rd party company needs to produce a more competitive product/service for the dpwtour.

tldr: his status is low enough that he's allowed to play elsewhere cause he's likely to be passed up a start on dpwt most weeks.

“I may be the only DP World Tour member who can do that, because of my category 18 status. I won’t be subject to further fines or suspensions by the DP World Tour as long as that category does not improve.

It appears that the field at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship has suffered at little due to the Ryder Cup as some regulars are missing. Hideous number of SA pros and 54 pros in the field.

Calum Hill would be good outside bet.

Some notables:
Matt Fitzpatrick, Tommy Fleetwood, Robert MacIntryre, Ryan Fox, Bill Horschel, Matt Kuchar, Victor Perez, Adrian Moronk, Nicolas Colsaerts, Harrington, T Bjorn, T Olesen, A Fitzpatrick ...
