And he may yet W/D from the event if his back doesn't co-operate. Especially since the event is 6 weeks away. TW committed to the event the start of November last year then W/D a couple weeks later.

Well since he had an arthritic subtalar joint and it was operated on several months prior seems like he has a solid fusion now. I have done this procedure countless times throughout my last 22 years in practice. Technically it's an easy procedure. So it seems like his leg and ankle must be fine but his pain was almost entirely from the subtalar joint. Now that it is fused it is not painful and hence he can walk without difficulty. Good for him! He very well may contend again now that he can walk.

Hopefully so.  However,  doc, wouldn't it seem highly inadvisable for a guy with his back and leg injury history to carry a golf bag around 4 straight days?

WZ has moved to 32nd I see.   I love WZ but he has not played in almost 9-10 months and was surpised to see his is still the high on the rankings. 

 

JT has dropped down to 28th when he was 5th last year and as we know his game is iffy right now, so I would say that fits. 

 

It seems like OWGR, once you are up in rankings it makes the most sense to play less, maybe just the majors and stay healthier.  

 

More surprised that Cam (20) and Brooks(18) are still in the top 20. They only played the 4 majors,  I guess half way proves my point.  If you play the majors only, finish in top 20 or so in only those 4 events it keeps you in the top 20 OWGR.
