hate all these videos can a Youtuber beat a pro.

Some of these videos are pain full to watch, golf is already slow but hearing dudes complain and comment the entire video  why they miss shots every hole and oh let me hit this soft 3/4 baby knock down fade into the hole then proceed to miss a mile.

I think they all ought to actually have a tournament with all these guys.  I know there's been the occasional half assed thing but surely some sponsor could be found to put up a decent purse for a one off event? Gross and net even.

Do too many guys fear getting exposed and their covers blown? Why hasn't this happened?

I saw this guy play Bethpage,  he's obv good but also obv not a tour level golfer currently.

For those who don't know Grant Horvat is one of the better YT golfers and he's a pretty cool guy from all accounts.

He plays to about a scratch or +1

He plays against Nelly from the same tees and she still easily beats him. I honestly still don't get why women golf is more popular but they can flat out play golf.

What length tees ?  Her length or his ?

beside the point. This is for clicks.  He’s no traveling plus tournament player.  He putts like me a couple years ago 🤣

Ahhhh, Bill.

I took my wife to see him just before covid. She’s not a huge comedy fan but she had a blast. Highly recommend catching him in person.

My son turns 18 in Feb. He doesn’t know it yet but I’m taking him to Tom Segura in March for his bday (he’s a big fan, and I’m a terrible parent). Should be a good time.

I'm in MTL so i've seen all these guys live at Just For Laughs , which is a huge comedy fest here. I've actually hung out with several of the mid-level type guys at some of the clubs after their performances. I saw Bill Burr maybe 5-6 years ago here the last time

The "best of the fest" show you get a great mix of up and comers. I saw Iliza Schesinger when she was like 24 and she absolutely bombed LOL, walked off the stage cursing. She has like 5 specials on Netflix now and they are mostly really good. I also saw Anthony Jeselnik before he became big and a bunch of others

Women just don't watch sports

Serious irony in that women are ostracized by other women if they excel in a way that is objectively better, i.e. winning in sports, getting better results on work projects, getting better scores on exams, but women who are subjectively more skilled in social settings even if it's by means of cutting down others are popular or praised. Very interesting reading if you ever look at studies on it, and sad to see.

One outcome of the above is that often women who are very good at sports are very subdued when it comes to any celebration of their accomplishments, which isn't very exciting to watch, which means not many eyeballs tuning in. It also means not many stand out in a way that lets people latch on as a fan of their personality since it's not really on display. While the various men's & women's tours share a lot of anecdotes about what players are like, the anecdotes are about the only way anyone watching gets an idea of who many of the ladies playing are. On the course and in their interviews they're so reserved that the average male pro seems like a wild man in comparison. Most fans of women's golf are just fans of golf period, whereas many men have male & female fans who like the personalities attached to the winners or the way they crush the competition.

Outliers like The Williams Sisters who celebrate their wins and aren't quiet & demure when they compete tend to be very popular and earn the views & dollars that come with it. Something, something, the world loves a winner.

All that said, be careful what you wish for. The people wanting women's golf to be more popular are probably going to feel otherwise when every event is packed, easily interacting with the ladies stops being a thing, and morons start screaming "Mashed Potatoes!" on every tee box.

On the NZ golf handicap website, Lydia Ko's handicap was listed in 2013 as +7.1

Let's say she is currently still at that or better and let's say Nelly is of similar ability, then it should come as no surprise that a scratch player can't compete.

Pretty sure that is a woman's index. Closer to +1 - +2 men's.
