If they were going to use “X” they missed a marketing theme SMX TSX. I said this before but not sure what thread. Most OEM go through two cycles before changing series name or new tech is actually different. Two TS cycles now, it will be a complete new name and tech. The face was the big new tech for TS series.

I always wonder how but it’s promising to hear that. Titleist is at the don’t F it up stage and somehow improve it but we’ll see it soon enough.

I doubt that the carbon was the reason for the flop.

Three really; TS > TSI > TSR

 

But yeah, someone else said new name a page or two back.

 

Even then, they're not exactly going to throw the current design out the window IMO

There's a solid reason to do something, to follow to the crowd.  Maybe it has something to do with carbon crowns and faces separating from drivers from other OEMs.

 

They tried it again as recently as 2016, yet didn't implement it beyond the concept C16 driver.  If carbon were the answer, you'd think they would have implemented it in the Tour Speed project.

I believe I've heard that after adhesives and skeleton structure for the carbon then it cancels out the actual weight savings.

I was gonna say TSA too since TS_ to TSi = 9 letters. TSi to TSr = 9 letters. TSr to TSz is 8 so start over with A. Then tagline with something like "so good they'll search you".

I am not saying do it because of the follow the crowd deal. I am saying in an industry such as golf. They all kind of end up doing the same thing as they see the benefits. That’s all

I definitely see where you are coming from. I just think after 909 and c16 if they really saw something there then it would have been implemented in the T series. Very curious about advancements with the next line.

I believe PING has been cited as using carbon because it was too difficult or inconsistent to make metal crowns thin enough to displace whatever material needed for MOI stuff yada yada. What do I know? I'm just a marine biologist.
