If they did 10k then it would be a swing and a miss if titleist didn't use X, TSX would be clean and not so flashy. One thing I like is how you never really know what's in store besides a traditional approach. They have messed up sometimes like going 907 from 905.

The new Titleist woods lineup will be called TSA. Some tee boxes you’ll have to take your shoes off, others you won’t. There will be long lines of people trying to get their hands on them. The TSA woods will search your golf bag every round.

907 was a total miss after the 905 series - tough act to follow as 905R was the consensus best Titleist driver ever

909 was a good return to form, but 905 was still better

910 was the first adjustable series and was really good

913 was forgettable

915 was really good and had Tour usage for a long time - only complaint from some was the sound (and spin but the low-spin crew always complain about Titleist and spin)

917 wasn't great.

TS series was OK but the head shape on the D2 wasn't good

TSi was really good, especially the TSi3, but again the TSI2 head shape was off

TSR is great across the board

 

Almost every other release from Titleist was skippable - and I say that as a long-time Titleist guy.

 

There may be some branding reasons for not using TSX.

Despite being told by a Titleist guy that the wedges would be called SMX, they weren't, so I very much doubt an "X" will be making its way into the name, but who knows?

Would be ideal if they go 10k but that would be replacing the tsr1 so I'm not sure they will compete with it but who knows.

 Clearly you didn’t read what I wrote. I said Titleist usually and not what he said. He did my driver fitting and order and I received it in early Oct of 22 so they did.

TSR was meant to be the end of the Titleist Speed Project. I don't think it will be a TS name with the next model.

I’m sure it’ll be more than decent.   Speaking to someone there recently I asked how are they going to make it better.  He just laughed and said, “I can’t say. But I’m  glad it’s not my job”

My first driver was the 913D2, spun like hell but I loved the look, feel, and sound. In search of distance through the years I went through the Callaway Rogue SZ -> Titleist TS4 -> Ping G425 LST -> Taylormade Stealth Plus -> TSR2 (currently). While I'm biased towards Titleist in general, the TSR2 is the top of the mountain. I have no idea what they could even do to make it any better. Looks - perfect, feel - perfect, sound - perfect, forgiveness - perfect. The ball speed is literally within 1-2 mph shot-for-shot, 1.48-1.5 anywhere on the face so how in the world would they increase speed? I honestly don't think the next model will improve but 1-2 yards on the TSR series, maybe some new marketing hype introducing carbon or titanium? I assume the same everything but seeing the Titleist evolution I know whatever gets released will be better than its previous iteration, for that I know something bigger than TSR is coming and I'm freakin pumped for it.

Titleist went down that road before.  909 DComp driver in 2009 had a composite crown.  C16 Driver in 2016 had one as well.
