Another pick me an iron thread.

I hit one shot shape. So workability is a waste. Greens in Buffalo are soft enough so spin isn't an issue. I need graphite shafted shovels that just blast the ball in the air.

They need to look sexy though like I'm a good golfer.

If some offset doesn't spoil the "good looking" part for you, I'd second the recommendation(s) of Titleist's T300/T350. To me they still look like a Titleist, which means they look like clubs a decent player would use but they really get the ball up and at 'em with the best of the "shovels" in my opinion.

I swear the T300 5-iron is easier to hit straight than the 8-iron of my old DCI's back in the day. While looking much less shovel-ish (to me, at least).

From what I’ve heard and seen so far the Zipcore XL are even more forgiving. Hopefully mine will be here later this week to hit them.

Any pics of the ts3 vs zx4 at address?  Does the ts3 have more offset?

Here you go.  These are both 7 irons.  The TS3 has just a little more offset.  It is easier to hit.

I agree 100% that No doubt this is the case. The only set I’ve found that feel good are the Gen4 XP’s I currently play. However, from everything I’ve read and seen that the new Zipcore XL irons don’t have the clicky, harsh sound or feel. Hopefully mine arrive late this week so I can confirm that myself.

Well... after a couple of months of just awful ball striking, I've taken the Artisans out of the bag and put my 2002 Mizzy MX-20s back in.  Confidence is back.  Length is back.  I stand over the ball and am not worried that I can't carry that creek or cover that tree.  I know it is me and my god-awful swing and not the clubs, and the Artisans when struck well do feel better than the Mizzys, but right now I'm playing better golf with the 22 year old shovels.

Here, here! If you want a more generous sized club face — I would not call these nominees shovels — and you want forgiveness but you don’t care for the hollow heads, the Maltby TS3 and New Level 902-OS are two excellent pure forged choices that stand out from the crowd.

They have low centers of gravity, perimeter weighting, solid MOI, more club face to see from address than most forged irons, have long irons that are easy to launch and they feel fantastic. Both are high quality forgings that prove you don’t need multi-material heads to produce a very playable iron. The 902OS on closeout now is a nice deal and I would say the TS3 is even one notch easier to hit.

Yes. But the PXG Gen 6 XP's have made that no longer true. Up until last fall I had been a Ping G series fan a long time. I put up with the sound because they just flat out performed so well for me over the years. Now that I've had the Gen 6's for a while they have solved that issue. The Gen 6's look great at address, feel fantastic, and are stupid easy to hit. I know some don't like the screws and I get it. I'm almost embarrassed that I used to think PXG was a flash in the pan.
