Have a 3 wood on the way as well as an NVS 85 g shaft to put in it
Looks like I should tip it 1" to go on this head?

What playing length are you all using with on a v steel 3 wood with an 85 g shaft?
I'm thinking 42.25 for mine.
Last thing: what do you use to sand the old paint off before reprinting the head? Fine grit or something else ?

I would highly recommend sending to continental golf instead of trying a home job. They can take it right to factory original. Check out the photos of mine in the continental golf thread in the club techs forum.

I recently purchased one, great fairway but coming from titleist fairways my whole life the vsteel just looks too closed at address for me.

when i go after it it's a hook machine.. just didn't fit my eye. anyone else have this issue?
IMO the slightly closed face may be one reason so many take to the V steel.
and one reason, it is unique.

Ive taken the bending bar to my V steels, to change face angle.( more closed), so I wouldnt hesitate to make yours square or open if thats what you prefer.

Got a v steel recently 3 wood. But the stock shaft feels not so good. Anyone have any suggestions of a good stiff shaft? Not looking to spend loads of cash on it either.
I'm in the same boat. Got a 15* from Goodwill and I hate steel shafts in woods so I just have the head at this point.

I have an Aldila NV stiff I have and I have the same shaft in a Sonartec that I murder so I am debating about puting that NV into the V-Steel.

I picked up a women's 7w to pair with my 5w. It had been ABUSED. I gave it a try with the Ladies flex... Whoops. Bad idea. Then I switched in Rifle 5.0. Not a great choice there either. I really don't want to search for a matching RIPa 80 to match my 5w. So the search continues.... The good news is that I did a DIY paint job that turned out really nice! (Then I smudged it before it was dry, so I have to do it again.... :( )

So here is the finished head. 1 coat of primer, 1 coat of flat black. Then a translucent blue over the top. Two clear coats. This is what I ended up with. I like that it isn't a vivid, bright blue. Just a deep Navy, almost black. Now I have to find a shaft for it. Anyone have a RIPa 80 laying around? :)

Almost forgot about this V steel: Band of Brothers thread. I originally posted this in the Continental golf thread. Enjoy guys!

Justin and the guys at Continental Golf did a great job with bringing my TM V steel 4 wood up to date. Looks OEM and really clean! Custom pearl white with white paint fill. This is the second club I had them refinish and they have done a great job yet again.

Just got me one, can't wait to hit it :)

It has the stock M.A.S stiff shaft but I will regrip with a GPMC Midsize and likely refurb the head.

Inspired by the White VSteels in this thread I set to work.
I fitted a GPMC Midsize grip tonight, masked off the head, roughed up the surface and applied 2 coats of satin white (leaving to dry fully between each coat)
I then used a wooden cocktail stick to pick out the alignment logo (to see if I could do a neat enough job before the final 2 coats) it came out better than I thought so will do this again after 2 more coats of white and then do a red paint fill.

I will then polish the sole and re-do the paint fill, I will also re-do the paint fill white on the face lines.

Hope to have it finished to game Saturday :)

Bought a V Steel 13 T/S about a month ago, with original cover.
Stiff stock shaft is in theory a bit stiff for me,
but off the Tee on the course seems OK.

Have the 3 wood.
Looking for a 7 wood.
Keeping TM 200 3 wood......and R7 ST 5 wood..

Feeling pressured to buy White Paint ...........got the masking tape !!!

Ok so I finished off the head, ended up leaving the TM logo on crown white, white face grooves and did the V on sole in red with black everything else.
Masking did not come off great as the tape leaked a little but happy enough with the results.
First round with it on Saturday and it was so easy to hit off the tee and from a good lie, only hit two bad shots that were worm burners, but the ball was sat down for both shots, still made par on every hole I used it on including 226 yard par3.
Where has this club been all my life? Did they do a V-Steel driver lol.

Don't normally succumb to all the musings in the equipment section of WRX. But 17 pages discussing the V-steel piqued my interest. When these showed up on the bay cheap, pulled the trigger. So we'll soon find out what all the fuss is about.

If they are in as good of shape as the pics indicate, will just shim in a shaft and play them as is (until a refurb perhaps this winter). Several old school shafts are on hand. Grafalloy Epic (68g) driver shaft that I'll tip to 3W, Grafalloy Prolite 45 that is already tipped to 5W and a Precision Rifle 5.0 steel that is intriguing in the 5W. All are R flex which is suitable for my SS. I've been struggling with my G20 4W lately (no doubt swing related). So we'll see if all the accolades for the V-Steel are warranted once played.

Never thought I'd own/play a TM (just because). But if I remove the logo on the toe and fill in the mark on the top, who's going to know. Hopefully, my brethren over in the Classic section don't discover my transgression.

I just picked up two V Steel Fairways about 2 months ago, 5 and 7 woods (18* and 21*) and reshafted them with a couple old Proforce Gold 65 shafts, and they are money! Replaced my Titleist 913hd Hybrids (20* and 23*) which I had been hooking dreadfully over the past 6 months. I was desperate and remembered the old V Steel 5 wood I had (and got rid of) some 10 years ago, and thought "what the Hey!" worth a shot! Thinking about getting a V Steel 3 wood now......

Game 4&7.

Graphite design ys 6 in 4 wood. Love at first site.

The 7 Wood is my boo. I still have MAS2 stiff chopped down to a shade under 41'. Im scared to reshaft bc honestly I aint ready for the music to stop.

Nv 65 shaft in 3 wood (15*). I loved the shaft in TMAG Tour Burner. Hate the loft/setup in 3 wood. PM for pics she may have one foot out the door.

I reshafted the V Steels (post #501) that were recently acquired on the cheap. Using shafts that I had on hand, installed a Grafalloy Epic 68g (tipped 1/2") into the 15* and an old Precision Rifle steel into the 18*. Have only tried the 5W to date. Wow! Consistently very straight. Range distance is around 175 yards or so (I'm 64, so cut me some slack). Haven't hit the 3W yet, so YTBD. Look forward to some actual course play to better assess these clubs, but I'm liking what I've seen so far. As always, YMMV.

Now have two rounds in with the V Steels (3W & 5W). I now understand why this thread has run 17 pages. They are fantastic fairway woods. I've yet to hit a bad shot with them. I have struggled all season with a G20 4W, making solid contact, obtaining respectable distance. The V-steel 3W has cured all these problems. So easy to hit with a damn near perfect trajectory. Absolute money.

Last night during league play, hit a poor drive leaving me about 180 yards to the green. This is a shot that I did not have a club for. Took out the 5W (steel shafted) and with a good swing, put it on the green about 15 feet from the pin. Flight was straight as arrow. Amazing. Two putts for par.

Yeah, they ARE that good. Looks like head refurbs from Continental are in order this off season. Do not see these babies leaving the bag any time soon.
