Detour Putter by Cameron
If I was one of those guys who had to bag a Cameron just because it was a SC, which one would be more embarassing to say I'd paid a lot of money for, the Detour or his bullseye?
If you were one of those guys I'd say the Detour would be more embarassing. You can pass the bullseye off as more of a collectors item, an old school throw back. The detour is just a new school throw up. Is that what you were thinking?

Biggest flop I would say was the Medicus 5 iron. Darn thing kept breaking on me either during my take away or downswing. Lol! I could end up hitting it so I guess the Cleveland VAS 792 as I really wanted to like them as I was a big Cory Pavin fan back in the day. Almost bought the wife a ladies set but I couldn't do that to her
I realize that as Cory Pavin won a major with the VAS irons but for cycle life & technologically design they never lasted & were improved on as the design went by the way side. Plus all I could remember was shanking them way too often. What might be a flop to some might be another person's gamer back then.

I remember Arnold Palmer advertising a driver that didn't have a grip on the shat... You had to wear a special glove to use it... I swear I'm not kidding!

Can't agree with "All square drivers" being flops. We sold a bunch of these things at my store. The Ft-i did great. The Adams A3 line did great. The Nike models did pretty good.

First club that I thought of after reading this topic was the C4. Then the TM Retro Raylor that came out at $279. 6 months later you could get it for $100. Then it was buy a driver---please take one of these raylors free.

The original Nike forged driver. Rushed to the market and so hard to hit for most guys.

I would recommend that you give one an honest try before you label it as a failure. I NEVER would have thought that I would have any Nike club in my bag but the Covert Tour, for me is the best driver I've hit. It easily outperformed both my 913D2 and 913D3. I'm an ultra high spin player because of a few swing flaws and the Covert Tour lowered my spin to 3,000 rpms from 3,500-3,600 rpms with the 913D3 WB 73x combo.

The R7 Limited may have been trampled over by other TM driver options pretty soon after coming out so maybe a flop for TM but it still wasn't a bad driver.

I can't believe nobody has mentioned the Wilson Invex

Wilson Staff metal woods.......I caved in three of these when I was 15. They finally just sent me a laminated Whale which is what I wanted anyway, still have it.

Wilson Fat Shaft

The ISI's weren't big sellers for PING, but better than the first Zing model.......the amount of weight in the high toe gave them a tendency to snap shafts.

Hogan H40s.....sadly I have a set, think they're still in the garage

Hogan Medallions.....not the set from the late 70s, the cavity they offered in the 90s.

Hogan Magnum

Langert Transitions.....probably the first combo set I can remember circa early 90s. I have only seen 1 set over the years.

DeLaCruz Mag Cruzer......I would love to get my hands on the driver. It looked good and felt awesome, head was magnesium. I don't know if the production costs were high or they had high rejection rates but they didn't make a lot of them

Goldwin AVDP......another DeLaCruz design. I guess people didn't like D-7 swingweights with graphite shafts, they came with lightweight Winn grips.....sadly I can't think of a Goldwin model that did well, the woods were milled T6 aluminum, felt great but didn't have a wide appeal.

Say what you will about the C4, but what Cally learned about working with composites when they developed that head translated into some pretty good models.....FT-3 and FT Tour come to mind

Titleist DTR, Prescription irons......the Prescriptions had yardages stamped on them rather than club numbers, it apparently didn't catch on.

Hurricane Golf......anyone remember this company? Anyone?

MacGregor Doctor Rx

Palmer PHD.......a fin on the hosel? Really Arnie? Really?

Yonex ADX 200, FL, Carboniron/Boroniron, Daiwa Exceler, Maxfli Missle, Maruman DCA irons......were made entirely of composite with a steel soleplate. Didn't take a lot to wear them out........a member at the club I grew up at had a set of ADX 200s and would wear though them every few months

Atrigon.....they spent all their money to get Nick Price on staff. The design was crazy, was a one piece composite head/shaft. Don't think many made it to market before they went under.......another victim of the Nick Price curse in addition to Ram and Goldwin

Tommy Armour V-25 & V-31.....also 845m, 845c and 845 vault.........too bad too, the 845m and 845c were pretty good looking

Tommy Armour Ti-100 irons......I know they've been mentioned in previous posts. It was funny, the 1 iron was marked "The One" and 2 iron "The Deuce" and that's just what they were: a big stinky deuce.

Bridgestone Precept Power Pack & Precept Extra irons

Top Flite Magna driver......the crown could double as an ashtray

Lynx Black Cat......horrible followthrough after the Parallax, although the commercial with Freddie and Jim Nantz was good

Confidence, Faultless, Sounder, Browning, Founders Club (circa 1990-1996), FoxBat, Cubic Balance, Merit Golf, Northwestern Golf, Ryobi-Toski, S2, Stan Thompson, Palmer Golf, Toney Penna Golf, Pinseeker Golf, Slotline, Cougar, Bullet.......RIP

Powerbuilt TPS

Cobra Ultramid......if Daly hadn't played this driver they would have sold 5 of them.

The Bullseye was a really good looking putter. It's only problem was the sweet spot the size of a pin head.
