There is a new leader in the clubhouse for irons in 2014!!

Love the Pro Combo - love Nikes Forged wedges as well!

Going to hit the MP54s, AP2s and Pro Combos when they come out and walk out of the store with one of them....

When do these come out?
I'm with you. I thought these looked great when we saw them at the Oven and I still do. People wanted a classic look that wasn't very flashy. Check. People wanted them to be satin. Check.

Like it was said earlier, if its working good, just tweak it. Titleist barely changed the 710 MBs to the 712s to the 714s. Just minor changes and people say they look great. Nike makes a few tweaks to an already solid iron and everyone's disappointed. I don't get it.
I don't think people are disappointed in the irons (well at least not many and they shouldnt be because they look great just like the others.), I think it's more of the putters than anything. Most were wanting a 006 proto. I was really just wanting what you have haha, but like I said, I would get the irons if I was in the market (who knows next spring I may be haah) and I will probably end up getting one of the putters depending on what comes out in the spring.

Forever Changing at this point.......

+1

They kept a nice clean look and added some tech with the polymer fill and better grooves. Then they threw in a popular new shaft.

What more do you guys want?

Well just looked at the new putter line and have to say I won't be buying any Nike putter. There's NO 006. How could Nike not bring this to retail. stupid. just plain stupid. there only way to make it right would be to......

Now hear this NIKE: Make a Limited Run of The Rory 006 Proto. You will sell out in 1-2 days and you could make it 500, 1000 or even 2000 they would eventually all sell. Too many guys like the Scotty 009 and that's really what the 006 is only you add your tech and it's the 006! Instant Classic for Nike putter line.

Yikes.. putter line looks really bad. Maybe next line will incorporate more feedback from the pro's and the feedback we gave them with the putters we got. This new line of putters is not doing our Oven experience any justice, just saying.
I was so excited about the putter line but this looks terrible IMHO. Hopefully Nike will listen and deliver in 2015...
I have never and would never own a Nike club but the putters don't look that bad..... What am I missing?
I'm just not a fan of any of those designs. I was hoping when I heard the name "Method Classic" that we may get a design like the RM006. These designs do nothing for me even though they could be great. I'll just keep my 001 and MM006 and call it a day.

Gotcha. It seems guys want the Rory putter

It would be nice if they had an 8802 style of method, preferably with weights.

Now, I'd just like the weight wrench to come to retail.

To be very honest, Nike needs to get out of the GI/cast market and focus exclusively on forged irons and wedges. I have yet to see a casting that looks good out of them.

Agreed. A method 8802 would be awesome.

I have to say that while I didn't get to hit the Mizuno MP-4, I liked the Nike blade better than the MP-64 and the MP-69. All were hit with X100 shafts for comparison. I did like the C-Taper in the MP-64, but was unable to hit the C-Taper in the Nike.

I've heard the 8802 request from a few people, but that would sell SO few putters unfortunately. Lower down on the totem pole, I'd bet.

The weights aren't a consumer item in their current state. They are secured with a little dab of loctite, so removal often requires heating them up carefully as to not to melt the polymer used. It's a tour weight set up, so it doesn't have to be consumer friendly.

Just a thought and I am in no way in the know on this so don't bash me for it but since basically the 006 proto is an EXACT replica as far as shape to the Scotty 009 is it possible the wont be able to release it for legal reasons? I mean Scotty doesnt make a 009 for retail and he probably has the rights to that shape (as I open the can of worms on the whole scotty/newport, ping/anser arguement). I just think there is probably some really legitimate reason that they won't come out with it to retail and if we do ever see something like it will have some modification that will set it apart from Rory's and Tai's. I'd love to have one I just think it probably wont happen and I am perfectly happy with my Method 001,006, 007 collection. Just my two cents.

Good info Shakey,

I have a few questions that maybe you or the other guys can get answers

1. What is the difference in the new balls? Last year they doubled the rzn in the 20xi (thank god that is gone!)

2. The new putters do not have interchangeable weights correct?

3. Could one order the heavier head that is in the 33" and just order an extra 2"?
The MP 54 was a HUGE surprise for me this year. I didn't like the 53 that much because it didn't feel right for an MP club. Loved the 62, 63 and obviously the bladed options, however, the 53 just felt clunky to me. Last week I went to my fitter and the 54 was far better in feel and looks, and I actually enjoyed them very much. It might be the 54s that end up in my bag for the long irons. Through the 6 is going to be blades no matter, but the 54 may edge the 64 in feel and looks. I will be taking them to the range this upcoming weekend and giving them a proper demo with multiple shafts and choosing the all out winners.

I would also like to give the PCs a shot to compete with the Mizuno line, but without a bladed option until next year, or much of a look at what they are going to be (yes they will look similar to the split, but how much) they may be late to the table. Pity with how good the Covert Tour driver is for me, that driver will be in play for many years.

I REALLY hope they soften the cover up on whatever ball takes the place of the 20Xi-X. That ball is amazing, just way too clicky still.

First of all, there is no realistic chance that dalehead Anser will become a massively produced milled OTR putter. Scotty Cameron won't do it for 009, Bettinardi won't do it for BB0, Byron Morgan won't do it for DH89 because ... well he's a one-man shop. I don't know if there is manufacturing limitation to mass produce the head shape or there is this secret code in the industry. Again, I'm talking about high-end milled putters. Nike's strength in putter is the groove, not mass producing some challenging head shape. Never thought it would happen, and certainly not surprised when it didn't.

Secondly, I personally believe it makes no sense for Nike or any OEMs not named Cameron to allow consumer customization. Scotty Cameron putters are an art. All major OEMs are about top lines and bottom lines. Customization is really really bad idea when you try to scale up any product.

Thirdly, MOD 30 does not look like a 001 to me. It seems to have a very squared heel, not slanted like 001.

1) I have no other info on the balls right now. I'll update as soon as I can.
2) I would guess NO on the interchangeable weights for the putter. But I haven't seen them yet. We didn't get any info on the putters when we were at the Oven and the info I posted was all the rep answered to my many questions. Hopefully I can get some more out of him pretty soon.
3)I like your thinking on the putter order. I'm considering the MOD 00 at 33 for the heavier weight and getting grip in box. I can extend it to 37/38 and counterbalance it some. Something to try.

I think the MOD 30 has a chance to look really good. I always liked the 001, but I like a sight line. This seems close to that. I'll pass judgement when I get to see it.

I'm not a lefty, but I'll try and defend them here. How can you make a putter like the MOD 30 and not have a LH version of it. Seems like a better putter to do LH than the MOD 60. (unless I read the catalog wrong..this could be irrelevant)

Hey Shakey, thanks as always for all the information and by all means you guys did awesome on your posts from The Over. Can you find out or do you have any guess as to when the new pro combos will be out left handed? Definitely sucks having to wait until probably March for these..

Also to The Over guys who chose the new pcs, have you guys got them yet and did they come with blades?

Though decision on whether to wait for the new pcs for the polymer in the pocket cavities or just get the current set for cheaper now.. I'm still around a 20 handicap but have made vast improvements working with a coach and am replacing most of my original gear...

Any advice helps but again thanks to all who are supplying info!

Just saw the titleist MB forged.. They look sweet as well but I know the PCs will grow on me. Nike seems to have that effect.. Not particularly enthused to start but am won over the more I tinker with them

In copying the titleist logo placement i think an etched swoosh( like the bridgestone "B") on the top half and a very subtle vr forged on the bottom would look sexy !!! The titleist has a very similar look, just different logo placement

That ultra thin MOD 90 putter looks pretty darn sweet if you ask me. PIMP status.
