Hi All. Newbie here. I am (was) a P770 player but had my clubs stolen early summer. TaylorMade here in the UK didn’t have any replacement heads so I had to get a set of the original P790 which I really like but they’re not the same as the P770. I’ve been speaking to my retailer to see what TaylorMade might be releasing in 2020 in the hope that there might be something similar to the P750/770. Obviously due to the embargo they can’t give me any specific details, only that:

“No P770 replacement coming. The success of the P790 has even made them drop their M5 style category. Next year they are only bringing out game improvement irons....a replacement for M6 and a new oversize version of it as well”.

So I’m assuming that means there will be something M-CGB like coming here in the UK.

I'm not sure what you mean. I wasn't talking about any of their blade players. I was specifically talking about Rahm, Wolff (who does use a 760 3 iron), and Rory (who uses 750 in the 3 and 4 irons). I believe Day was also a 750 player at the time the 760 were released. Given their small staff now, that's a good percentage and none of them were ever legit candidates to play the 760.

I wasn't trying to call into question the success of the club at retail, as I have no doubt they've sold well. Like I said, if you fit the profile they're a great club. I just feel like they missed the traditional portion of the market that wants to play a true players CB.

Maybe some of my personal bias is creeping in. I'm not sure. I wanted to like the 760 so much, but they just weren't for me.

All of this only makes the 750 and 770 more sought after. The 770 is the one I like best. That iron is plenty long. Both will stand the test of time. I think the new 790 feels worse than the original.

I haven’t heard of an entirely new ball if that is what is meant. Both of the TP5 balls will be available in yellow.

I’m very disappointed that the there will be no P770 replacement! I’m not good enough to play the 60’s or 50’s, but the 70’s were money.

I hope they come out with some cool Pix colors?

Found some used sets P790 2019s for $800 to $1050. Hit really well! Waiting for the newer ones to come out to get these for $500.

I just picked up M2 driver and 3W brand new and discounted. Was pleasantly surprised how much better they are than my old drivers. Heel and toe shots are still in the fairway. Last round I played all my tee shots where they landed. No drops nor recovery shots Lol.

You'll be waiting a long while. P790 2019 was realeased in September 2019 and the first P790 launched in 2017. Looks like you'll be waiting until 2021, methinks.
