Who is buying SGI irons these days? The annual shovel release seems pointless when there are so many better options coming out from the likes of Ping, Mizuno, Titleist which have plenty help, look incredible and sit on two year cycles. It's strange.

Hopefully it will be here by September so we can get som fall golf in with them. Just wish they could get the whole P-series on the same release schedule to make it easier for combo sets etc. That being said, I dont think they'll release another 790 this year so best/worst case they keep the 760 replacement until another 790 comes around

1) People who like Taylormade offerings.

2) People who hit them better than other GI/SGI offerings available.

3) Those who don't have $1000 to spend on irons but want something sorta-new, so they pick up M6 instead of SIM vs. G410, T300, Hot Metal because they are 20-30% more expensive.

4) People who have crazy high dynamic loft and need something strong(er) lofted over other releases to get the spin and launch sorta-reasonable.

TM makes great irons (the 730’s are incredible, the 750/770 line was great and the 790’s are solid clubs), but the 760’s are garbage. I’m surprised they let those go to market, more surprised they didn’t bring out a replacement this year. That’s a lost opportunity.

Agreed. And I don’t hate TM. As I said, I think they’ve historically had really solid irons. People think of them as a “driver” company but they’ve had some great irons over the years (including currently). That line just wasn’t their best.

People criticizing the P760s have no idea of what they are talking about. They are likely more concerned about how a club looks in the bag than how it looks at address and how it plays. The club is not a game improvement club. It has smaller heads and Less offset than the 770s, that is not observational that is the facts!!

Now as far as new other players clubs, look for late summer or fall. They are coming. There is proto heads and at least one of them has new technology not just another "pretty" forged clubhead.

760s are a solid iron. Covers all the bases. It's okay not to like it. Strictly preference. But, no now "P Series" will be released this year I don't believe.

THe M5 irons last year impressed me thoroughly. You guys might call them shovels but with X100s, they were a pleasure to play for a few months before I went back to the Cobra MBs.

As for balls, stay tuned.

These are replacing the M line, so I would think they are going to be the same price point. No specs. on lofts yet. Just got the fit cart in. They are called SIM/OS. The OS has a thicker bottom and top line. Same blue accents.
