SLDR Mini arrives tomorrow. I plan on getting it on the Trackman next week to get some numbers compared to my SLDR TS, perhaps also the 913 for the heck of it.
Are you looking to get the numbers off the turf, tee, both? Really interested to see how it compares to the TS off the deck.

T-Buzz - I'm still pretty surprised that Kiyoshi Gold can hold up to your swing, and the Kai'li? No chance!
I would like to see his Trackman club head numbers, he probably does an incredible job of decreasing loft at impact.
I am still surprised at my fittings that those type of shafts fit me. I would like to know all the factors behind it.

I looked at the screen shot from your Trackman fitting, speed is ridiculous, but you already knew that.. attack angle is -1.3˚ and dynamic loft is 6.9˚.. I know there is probably some variance in your swings, but this definitely explains the shaft selection they gave you. It makes much more sense to me now seeing those numbers, if the Kiyoshi Gold can hold up to your speed, then I don't see a reason to mess with it, especially if the results are there. IMO, you probably want to stay away from the really low/low setups, the dispersion would probably be really inconsistent even though your good ones would be really long.

Might play tomorrow, or will for sure go to the range to hit it.. but I'm getting fit for irons Tuesday and was going to get some numbers on this after the fitting. Definitely looks more confidence inspiring for tee shots, but off the ground looks like it will be interesting, I've read the feedback, but I guess seeing is believing lol!

Definitely interested to see the out come for the iron trackman. I read your bringing your Scratch irons too. is that the TD SB-1 shape or the TD set with steps on the back.

Looking forward to reading your results with the SLDR mini. Contemplating picking one up to play with, especially if it's as straight off the tee as the 3wd. Can always rely on my 3wd to be in play, which I can't always say about the big dog. If the mini isn't losing much distance off the tee, I may have to pick one up and shaft it up with a motore speeder to give it an audition.

I hate to say it, but I think you will need an 80g+ shaft in the Mini. Unless you are going for absolute distance with no regard for accuracy.

I have a BB8x in with an SLDR tip.. making these heads glued has made the shaft selection process a LOT harder than it needs to be.

It's definitely not losing any distance, I'm just trying to see if it's gaining any. Off the turf it seems to be longer, but our fairways were soaked overnight due to the recent heat wave, I played in the morning and there was no roll out.

In my opinion, no :)

I haven't settled on it yet, but as of right now, I'm driver-less in the bag going with a 2Deep, then a 15* 3 wood. I'm not 100% sure on the distances yet, but there appears to be about a 20-30 yard gap between the two of them from initial testing.

I think it depends on the courses you play. I could see this being a good setup for very tight and short courses.. but in most cases, I would think the driver would be better would be a better option. I personally think it's a better 3 wood replacement option as it offers much more driver like performance off the tee, which other 3 woods do not, and from my first round with it, it is very playable from the fairway (so far). I have not hit the 12 degree and don't plan to replace my driver with this, for me, this is strictly a 3 wood replacement. Will need more time with it to see how this really fits into my bag, so far, I like it.. but that was only one round.

Nice. I'll have to check it out. I play most of my rounds at Goose Creek, so not really needed there. But some of my club tourneys are played on courses that being straight off the tee is more important that all out distance. Being straight and long and would just make it that much easier.

Thanks for your initial thoughts... Look forward to seeing how it tests out in future rounds.

Thanks

I hit the SLDR Mini 14˚ and the SLDR TS 14˚ on the Trackman today. I found the Mini to be a little higher spinning and launching than the TS. The average ball speed with the Mini and the TS were in the 170-171 range. The main thing was that I found the Mini to be overall a little easier to hit off the tee and the ground (off a perfect lie). The TS when really hit hard seemed to outperform the Mini and the ability to adjust the TS really helps to tune this club in to your preferences. The TS is definitely more demanding, for now I think I'm going to stick with the Mini and replace the BB7x with a ATX Green.
What would be awesome would be getting a dozen or so consistent hitters in each flex category to get together for a shootout. OEMs can supply heads, shaft OEMs can supply shafts for each adapter and flex. That way, you get feedback from people that may have more lag, or a smoother swing v. aggressive swing. At the end, donate the equipment to first tee or something similar.

Tai gave excellent feedback on the shafts and heads involved, and that was out of his own pocket. Imagine what he could have found out with other club and shaft companies bringing in their best to throw into the ring. We can make the 2015 shootout even bigger or better.
I'll get in as the old and slow regular flex representative. ......
