You still playing the M1? Tested a bunch of drivers today on Trackman/Outdoors and the M1 460 8.5 was very impressive.... First time my D2 7.5* has been beat.... Ended up buying on the spot.

M1 is a monster. Not surprised at all that it's better than his D2. C'mon.

 

Doesn't surprise me either, have also heard of a few people bombing the M1. I've often joked with Scratch in the past about his penchant for using drivers with lofts more often seen amongst the freak shows that populate the LDA. I'm just jealous that I can't do that anymore. LOL

 

Anyway, sorry to highjack your thread, J. Looking forward to your PGA show pictures.

 

I honestly didn't even ask what it was set at.... Launching 12.5 and sub 2000 spin, didn't hit one over 2100 spin even with a few miss hits.

Anything wow you at the show?

 

Golf club related I wouldn't say I was wow'd by anything. But the swing robot by RoboGolf (i think that's the name) WOW'd me. They were doing demo's in the TM booth and you could swing like Jason Day, Sergiom, DJ, or Justin Rose. Talk about different. To feel the positions those guys get it makes me feel like i'm lucky to break 100 with my swing haha :)

M1 firmly in the bag until something can do better. I have the 8.5 as well. I hit a few drivers at demo day that I want to test further when the weather gets better. Ping G LS, Callaway XR Pro, Cobra LTD & F6+, But M1 has been a great stick for me.

Seriously? Nike divot tools? Ball markers? Cota needs the inside info, details man!!!! :tongue:

RZN material throughout with new "no fatigue" technology inspired by walkers

Limited release Porto will be the exact same as the retail version but only available for Tweeters

That would be really cool, but the real question I have is about the club in that picture. That face looks to be WIDE OPEN. Is his driver really like that? The angle you took the pic of doesn't seem to be off, so I'm just curious.

Carbon putters looked good. I'm more of a mallet guy now and I only saw Anser style putters so I didn't spend much time at their booth. But quality and workmanship looked fine. Didn't roll them though so can't comment on feel, they didn't have a putting green to try them.

 

 

 

@Cota - Swing robot is very cool but weird. It puts your hands and arms in positions that feel so "off" but in reality are correct.

Very early in my experiment with them (last wedges were MD2 tour grinds), but already noticed that they tend to flight the ball much lower than anything else I've used. Wondering if the big tow extension also brings the CG up a bit higher. Ball flight (even on partial shots) looks like I caught it a groove or two thin even though it was struck well. Nice penetrating trajectory with a VERY pronounced check on the second bounce. I'm actually liking that as I've always struggled to hold the trajectory down with wedges.

LOVE my PM grind wedge. I see the EXACT the same thing from my wedge. Lower traj, more spin, and stupid easy out of bunkers. The only thing I notice once in a while is a pull left with full shots. I don't do more then a 3/4 shot with it anymore and have had any issues. And to be honest I don't hit any full shots with a 58-64* wedges so not a huge change for me.

I did. They only had 2 models that I saw and they weren't the models I like (Im' a #7 guy) so i'm not the best to report on them but they were really stable easy to keep square. I was one of the few that really loved the advantage of stroke balance that backstroke putters had. But like many it was just too weird and I always felt like the ball would jump at impact. These are the best of both worlds.

So things that stood out to me:

 

Drivers -

Cobra F6+ and LTD - GREAT stix

Ping G - Yep it's a Ping and it's good

Callaway XR Pro - Low spin with same forgiveness as the GBB. Sign me up

 

Shafts

Mitsu Tensei - Felt great, i like it

New Red Agera - looks awesome, the red is literally the best i've seen

New Arcane Blue - Awesome looking shaft and will match well with a lot of heads this year if that matters to you. Nike, XR 16, Ping G, ect...

 

Wedges

Edel - Engravings are awesome, they just are. I'd never play them they just look cool

Anthem - Veylix bought this company and the milling on the face is nice, can't comment on spin but i hit them a little and they look really nice at address, not much offset

MD3- love them, play them and PM grind is amazing

SM6 - Look nice can't go wrong with Vokey

Cobra King - New wedges look MUCH better then Trusty Rusty stuff

 

Irons:

Srixon 745 - yeah i know i play em but they are still the best, sorry they are :)

Titleist TMB - Saw a full set finally and they are sweet

Cobra King CB - Look great but not as forgiving as other player CB"s

Yonex - AWESOME blades see above

Bstone - CB's are money, can't go wrong.

 

Fwy woods/ Hybrid

Here's where i get picky

Cally 816 Alpha - love it, play it, still a huge fan

Cobra Baffler - if fwy woods and hybrids had a child. Great shaft, big fan especially for a 5 wood slot

Titleist F - Great looking line

Ben Hogan Hybrid - Look really really good, like old adams pro black except slightly larger

Callaway Ape Pro - Great shape and very workable, going to try them outdoors more

 

Putters

Odyssey RX insert is nice as is the Toe Up putters - THe Fang will sell well

SeeMore - Love the new Giant Mini series, M1T is great

Piretti - Stepping up big, love some of their new line and actually have one on the way ;)

TM - New Spider feels much better with mileld face and super stable
