SNELL GOLF BALLS??? anyone???

shot my second career low score of 79 using the mtb black yesterday , backed it up with a 81 today, made some stupid mistakes on the front 9 and carded 2 7’s along with a 6 on a par 3 , the back i shot 2 over. i owe it to this ball and my confidence standing over the mtb to do what i need, love the feel off the putter. thanks again dean for making a great priced ball.

i’m a big snell fan, i give away a sleeve to friends and playing partners more often then i should hah, great stuff hope some of them converted.

To Dean, if i ordered 5 dozen MTBs , could i substitute one dozen to be yellow ?

What did you shoot on the back nine? LOL I kid...

Played the X for 9 holes and the Black for 9 holes today. Previously played the Red. Honestly - too close to call right now...need more play time. The X does feel firmer/clickier especially off the putter, whereas I typically prefer a softer feel in the Black. Took me a few holes to adjust to the difference when I switched....I can go either way at the moment.

I shot a 39 on the from with the X....then, you guessed it - a 39 on the back with the Black.

Distance was about as good as I get with both balls.

Well stuck approaches, I could not tell one spinning significantly more/less than the other.

In any event, I think both are an improvement over the Red, and I really liked that ball. More to come.

yes, you can substitute for for yellow... on the order, just write in the "NOTES" section "substitute one doz for yellow" and we will make the adjustment to the order when packing... thanks..

Looking forward to being able to order the Black in Yellow. Sounds like they are not shipping for a few more weeks. Luckly I have some Reds left over from last year.

I have to admit I fell in love with the Titleist AVX last year because of me being so high spin. NOT ANYMORE! I'm back on the Snell black bandwagon. Better feel than the avx off the putter and low spin off the driver. Plenty of spin around the greens and off the short irons. Dean, I don't know how you improved on the original MTB but you did. Saving $16 a dozen ain't bad either!

Were you playing the X or Black when comparing to AVX?

Received my order of five dozen black in the yellow. Love this ball in yellow, so much easier to see. I have a hard time seeing the ball hit the ground here in Phoenix, but the yellow color helps a lot. I also ordered five dozen of the black in white for my son. He finally admits that the Snell is just as good (if not better) than the prov1 and the price point is fantastic. I am finally starting to see that more people are aware of this brand and also notice more people playing this ball. Business at Snell must be booming.

The largest difference between the two is feel. Performance is very close and I think less separation than the ProV1/ProV1x. If you like softer, go Black. If you like firmer, go X.

Go listen to the latest TG2 podcast episode with Dean. It was eye opening to me. It was a crash course on golf ball engineering and design. It’s an awesome history of titleist and Taylormade balls, as well as, talking about both Snell offerings. I highly recommend it!

Just to clarify, MTB-X is new for 2019, and MTB Black is unchanged from 2018 (aside from yellow)? Couldn't tell for sure as the website mentions 'refined aerodynamics' for the Black.

If you believe Mr Snell which I do it should shed a lot of light on your golf ball selection

Played nine just with the black today. It’s a really good ball and the putting got a bit easier - though I did have two three putts one was on an 85 foot putt and the other was due to aerated greens - I felt like I could actually control it when doing it back to back with the X felt like I had zero control.

It just flies off the tee. Hit a drive to a place today I had no idea was even possible for me. And it holds it’s line in the wind well without too much ballooning. Didn’t really chip much today because I hit 6/9 greens - I actually had no chips - just a few pitches from the rough.

My next nine will be with the X and I’ll just see what happens. I think it’s going to come down to putting and which one I feel more confident with. I felt a bit better today but it wasn’t great - I certainly didn’t make a putt today.

we are trying to ship out the MTB BLACK or X (white) orders, and split the Backorders to ship May 15th... so you can do either way.. one order and it will be split, or two separate orders, and one ships and other ships around May 15th... thanks.

I have played the MTB Black and I think it is similar to the original MTB. My question is what is the difference between the orig MTB and the MTB Black? Thanks in advance.

BTW, I love both the orig MTB and the MTB Black!!!!!!!!!! I like the X version but the Black feels so much better to me.

We lowered the core compression on the MTB BLACK from the original MTB.. this will make the driver spin alitle lower and slightly longer.. mantle layer and cover layer did not change, so same short game performance will be same... the feel may sound slighly softer to some players, but close as well...

I was a big fan of the red. I would love to try the X but I just do not like to order golf balls online and pay shipping. I also don't like to order 4-5 dozen of a ball at the same time. I have not a single thing bad to say about snell as a company. I just would rather go into a store and buy balls off a shelf.

Driver: Paradym 3D Ventus black TR 6x

Pretty much exactly how I feel. But I probably will break down at some point and order a couple dozen of the X to try.

The quality of the product is worth the mental adjustment in acquiring them in a manner other than preferred. :)

I did manage to play a full 18 with the MTB Dark Chocolate last weekend. Nice distance, and such as I can tell on very early season greens conditions, good short game spin. Looking forward to more testing.

(side note, did not buy MTB-X or its predecessor, the MTB Cherry, so can't compare between models)
