Ping i-e Irons?

finally had a chance to get fit by someone who knew what they were doing, came down to the MP25s and the Is, with a slight edge to the Is. I ordered a set with KBS tour shafts green 1/2 long D3 should be in my hands by the end of next week.

Had my first ever fitting today. My ball flight was best with Ping ie's with the Nippon Modus 105 shaft. Went with 4-GW. Hybrids don't really work for me but the guy said Ping is coming out with a hybrid like 2 & 3 iron in February. Looking forward to playing these which will be my first set of new irons. A buddy joked with me that he couldn't believe I wasn't buying used off eBay!
Bought a set recently based on a demo day. Kinda disappointed now.

Might have to have them adjusted. My others clubs are a half inch shorter and feel heavier.
chop 1/2 off put some nice grips on. Get the lie bent if need be and you will be fine. The light weight of D0 you will adjust to and its adds speed. Seriously good irons these. At max you will find something 2-3% better out there if you are lucky and fit well. Alter them try them is my 2 pence

I got mine and love them

5-W with glide wedges in 47,52,56
The 47 is bent one degree weak.

Hit the very high and just with a baby draw.
Why 5-W with a 46 degree Glide?
I went with 47 bent weak, so 48

I hit the PW 130 but my gap wedge only goes 110
the 48* goes right about 120

the gapping works so far

Are these a chrome laminated finish also like the 25's?

If so I won't be purchasing.

Two sets of i25'5, over 100 rounds on one of the two sets, about 20 on the other - no delamination.

Two sets of 56's peeling. One set of i20's, peeling. One set of i25's 14 months old in a disgraceful way. I hope you stay happy and lucky my friend.

Send them back to Ping. You'll have your choice of a brand new i25 set, or they will also allow you to upgrade to the iE at no charge and build them to your specs

Just played my first round with my custom fit ie1s and I am really impressed. I can hit so many different types of shots with them yet they are so forgiving off hits low on the face. I had 6 birdie putts within 10 feet today because of these irons. I only made 2 of them but that's not the irons fault. I obviously need a new putter. :) There's no way missed putts can be from lack of practice, right? Anyway, the irons are awesome so far! Can't wait to play more rounds with them!

Just posted the other day about my fitting and order placed for the ie's but had a couple of more thoughts. I just remembered a trip to GG a few months back and checking out the different irons. When I came across the Ping's, I remember thinking the ie1's were some really nice looking irons. Never really been a Ping man but went into the fitting with an open mind. Just glad a nice looking iron won out! I just hit the 7 iron so can't wait to hit rest of the set to see what the distances are.

I've tried to get through as many of these 60 something pages to find the info I am looking for , but my eyes are starting to hurt.... Lol.
My one question for anyone that has had extensive hitting with both irons, is what's the main differences between the i25s and the i e1s? I've been playing the i25s for the last year or so, and like them, but always looking for better. My questions are: is there enough of a difference in the 2 irons to change? I hit a really high ball with the i25s with the CFS stiff. Are they pretty equal in trajectory with the CFS's? The Ping website says CFS is mid launch, and the CFS Distance as mid-low. I'd prefer a lower launch if possible. Is forgiveness that much different between the i25 and the i's? I'd hate to shell out the money for the new i's, then feel they are about the same as my i25s... But I read so much love for the i's on here, it's hard not to want them..... Any direct comparisons from owners of both sets would be appreciative..

After reading this thread, i must resist to trade my j15 cb with someone for a set of ie1s. Love the forged feel but they are a bit demanding when im not striking 10/10.

IMO these are as soft as any forged I have played. You will give up nothing.....but higher scores! Have Apex Pro in the bag. Played my sons e1's(that he stole from me) yesterday. Much more forgiveness and better feel. IMO forgiveness and feel are related.

Now I have to try to get my clubs back from him.....

In my opinion, you will not gain a lot from a performance standpoint, as the irons from the 120 -> i25 - > iE have been modest, but observable. Wouldn't define it as transformational (unlike i15 to i20).

The main difference is subtle - like how the hosel flows into the clubhead, improved feel, better shaft selection, thinned top line, etc. Only you can determine if the cost is worth the benefit. It was worth the upgrade to me, but that is based on my subjective criteria.

I just switched from the j15 cbs to the ie1s and feel like they feel just as good as the cbs with more forgiveness off hits low on the face (my miss). I don't regret the change at all.

Going to set up a fitting after the first of the year.
Just wondering if anyone has been fit for the CFS distance, and what the main difference is between them and the standard CFS.
Currently play the DG XP 115 (115g +\-) in my irons, and looking at a little less weight and save a little $. I was fit for the XPs, but #2 & #3 on the list were the DG PROS (111g) & NS Pros (98g). Happy to see all three of these are offered.
