Ping i-e Irons?

The sole is slightly thinner than the i25. Finish looked a touch darker than the Glide wedges. The cavity looked a little cleaner than i25 with a sliver of blue color scheme. In the 7 iron, there is a slight undercut channel.

And as some said, I was not allowed to take pictures.

Guys I've seen them today and had the chance to hit them as well... They look really good IMO and sound very solid too. The ball flight that I saw was similar to my S 55... but a bit longer... Sorry no pics do not want to get our sales rep in any trouble...

Finish: Darker than current i25, but not as dark as G30. More satin finish than the i25 and just a little darker.
Badging: i-E1 badging is clean. Silver with small blue accents. CTP pushed deeper into the head towards the sole, more Glide-seque
Ferrules: Yes, on i-E1 [i]and [/i]GMAX
Offset: Less than on i25, but still progressive offset through the longer clubs
Shaft Options: Project X, Nippon 105, Dynamic Gold, New CFS Graphite (All honesty, I know I'm forgetting one)
Release Date: Demos mid July, retail stores end of July
Pricing: Was not discussed with my rep.
Info regarding GMAX --> Progressively lighter swingweights from the 6 to 4 iron. Apparently their research showed that the lighter swing weights help players close the club face more.

If that is correct 25% increase in price is disappointing. Maybe that is MSRP and not price we will see in stores?

MSRP or Manufacturer Suggested Retail Price is always higher than what it will be selling for on the street. Be more interested to hear MAP, or minimum advertised pricing.

I was told by my rep that he already has an iron... so I think everything posted is true. I will get to hit it next week. Our demos arrive 7/20, launch day is supposedly 7/30.

I am hoping for less offset. I find myself wanting s55 in the 4/5 irons.

Sole is a hair thinner, blade length looked identical to me. Compared it to the i25 demo head and blade length looked exactly the same.

Edit - the best way I can describe the head size/shape is if the i25 and s55 had a baby, and the child got its size and personality from i25, but good looks from s55.

I thought it looked almost identical size to the i25 with a little less offset. They will feel like the glide irons as they are made with the same metal. In turn being so soft, they will ding easily. In my opinion, didn't look that remarkable especially for a $1000 iron. The GMax looked horrendous. Again just one opinion but I was unimpressed.

[/quote]I doubt it, most tour pros are looking for that less offset in the long/mid irons. The IE will probably still be marketed to those who want s series looks with semi g series forgiveness.

This will be a shame if they ding easier, as the durability has always been a trait in Ping that has attracted me anyways.
