I like that the line was the first item under the "Show Stoppers" article on the front page.

I think Ping played well with the price.

Instead of put $300-400 tag with one choice, they made two and each costs $150.

So, I gotta buy all of them.

This lineup further re-enforces the stronghold Ping has in the cast putter market. IMO, they make a great putter in the $150 range. In the $300 range, they're just average.

IMO, the Redwood like was ok, but the Anser Milled line was awful.

Casting is their bread and butter. That Anser 2 might be the first thing I've ever pre-ordered.

Are these cast 17-4?

Is the Bronze finish something that will wear well, or will it chip and peel if you don't use a head cover.

One of the great things about the old MB putters is that they were indestructible.

I can't believe it hasn't been mentioned yet, but quite possibly the coolest part about these putters is:

"They use stepped steel shafts that were also re-engineered from the original Anser designs."

Stepped shafts from the original Anser design? Could this get better? How long has it been since a manufacturer had a stepped shaft in its line? Big thanks to Ping for stepping up to the plate.

The finish is PVD, so if it's anything like the Karsten TR line, it will wear rather easily. Mine was showing wear on the bumpers from taking the velcro headcover off and on after a couple months. Was a real bummer.

I personally don't think the value of putter are in propotion to money.

Of course there are so many highend boutique putters cost more than a grand, and they are great.

But, from $100-$400 market, I don't see any quality difference among them.

Just confirmed with PING: The Anser is available with the starshot finish for a small upcharge.

Starshot is simply bead blasted stainless, correct? No plating?

Yes Seannie is the best! I found that the Antique finish didn't hold up well on the TR grooves on a custom putter that I had made. I hope you have better results.

Yeah I heard that can happen with that finish but that isn't too much a concern for me I don't mind a little fading I think it adds character haha

Totally different. Watch a video about TR grooves and you'll understand.

I'm not sure I would say totally different. The intent is different though. The TR grooves are meant to create consistent distance control through the whole face as a priority rather than starting the ball rolling sooner as the priority.

Not saying they are exactly the same but put them side by side with no branding and im sure most would struggle to tell the difference

a guy dated 3 different girls to choose whom to marry. gave each girl a million bucks and see what each girl does w the money.

a girl who spends 100% of the money and effort to make her sexier, prettier so her boy can be pleased w his beautiful GF.

a girl spends all on buying gifts for her boyfriend. cars. watches. golf clubs and etc.

then a girl who invested the million to the stock market and the real estate, bumped it up to 3 millions in a couple months.

whom did the guy marry to, wonder?

he married to the one with the largest boobs.

that's how the Scotty Cameron putter works in this realm. no matter how other putters work good or better.

the TR 1966 Ansers look awesome.

i'm gonna definitely try to buy that 009 Newport.

and yes. i am completely joking here.

Just to clarify. Are you talking about the Anser or Anser 2 ?

I was talking about the Anser but you can get the Starshot finish on both. It's a slightly darker finish than they one on the Anser 2. Less reflective + better for glare. Like Bubba's new putter.

The groove tech is mostly to improve distance control on off-center hits. The Milled series had the prototype version of these with horizontally milled grooves. I'm hoping the head cover is all white like the 40th anniversary cover with the original PING script logo.

For those of you that have already contacted Mortons about custom options through WRX has anyone asked if they would add weights to these?

I think it's $21.

Just inquiring about CDN pricing but I will very likely be ordering an Anser with starshot, sight dot, and original Pingman grip shortly.
