In what way? They are 2 totally different putters: one is milled, one is cast. Milled line has subtle horizontal milling on the face and in no way shape or form resembles the TR grooves, which have variable depth and are spaced further apart than milling marks. As far as head shape, the Milled Anser 0 is very similar to the sound slot 1966, and the Milled Anser 2 would obviously resemble the Anser 2 1966.

I was referring to head shape on the anser 0 with the sound slot compared to the anser 1966. With the price on the anser milled now, they are very tempting.

I assumed you meant head shape. I mentioned already in the thread, but I own the Anser 0 and love it. I've always had a sight line on my putters, so I created one with a thin piece of electrical tape on the flang.

Almost pulled the trigger on a TR Anser 2 a couple weeks ago and glad i didn't. I'll bag the 1966 Anser2 when it hits the stores. I love the face milling on my TR B60 but really prefer the Anser2 look.

Wonder if they will have some kind of retro style commemorative head cover for these bab boys?

I guessing these will be cast stainless, so starshot on the Anser model should be available.

You'd want a longer neck to get it to 3:30. Shoot Morton's a message and ask if that's something they can do through Ping WRX.

I just got off the phone with Ping. (nice rep) He said they should be shipping mid March. He seemed almost as excited as me. The early feedback has been very good.

I am thinking of getting both. I am usually an Anser 2 guy, but the Anser really looks classic.

Need to seen these up close before I make any decisions. I hear the Anser 2 has a thinner top line than other Anser 2s...that could be a problem.

Our reply: Thank you for your email and visiting our website. The standard lie angle for the TR 1966 putters is black dot. This translates into 70 degree lie angle. You will want to order a red dot to achieve the lie angle of 69 degrees.

I've seen a few posts saying you can have them weight the head....for anyone who has had this done is there an upcharge?

Tungsten weight added to the head is a $250 up charge. But when I called Ping a couple weeks ago they said that currently they are not offering this option for the TR 1966.

I imagine they don't want to add weights because they would have to remill the face. Here's a picture of my putter with the weights and then they milled the TR grooves.

Does anyone know what the Anser bronze will look like with the starshot finish? I want the Anser with a sightline added but not the biggest fan of that color.

EDIT: Saw the answer in a previous post. Thinking of starshot with a sight line in blue paintfill. I am going to ask Seannie about engraving it for my 30th so it becomes a personal collectors item.
