I like that the heads are lighter. The trend toward heavy heads hasn't worked out for me at all.

 

And to your point, it's always easier adding weight than it is removing it.

Crap, I just noticed that the putter comes with the pp58 black rubber midsize grip. I just ordered 2 thinking I would have to put one on this putter. Oh well -

My buddy just sent me the Instagram pics of these. I'm disappointed I missed these being a massive Ping fanatic.

 

Really clean looks + TR grooves.

 

Like I need another Anser 2 shaped putter in my collection! But yeah, gonna have it! Along with some new G series woods.

I will say that I'm hoping these feel a little firmer than the Karsten or Cadence TR lines. Not a deal breaker, but I'd enjoy my experience more it there was a little bit of a click to it. Guess I'm the anti-WRX since I want lighter heads and clickier faces; none of that heavy head, buttah feeling stuff for me.

There is always Ping WRX or Tom Slighter to fix those weight issues too. Lots of options if everything except the weight is perfect.

I use lead tape. Always have. Always will.

 

Lead tape is for manly men. Men who chop wood with axes, drink whiskey, deadlift, and wear flannel.

Don't you know that OTHER putter companies are charging $400.00 plus for their 2016 lineup of spaceship looking putters? Then you just have to bring back the most beloved putter of all time. Do you make it look fancy?!? Nooooooo of course you don't. You just decide to mill the face and keep it as classy as can be. Do you charge an arm and a leg??? Nooooooooo of course you don't. Instead you just price it at $149.00. Gosh Ping, what the heck are you guys thinking?!?

 

You think you can just waltz into the putter world and bring back the amazing Anser line at a great price point?

Being cast instead of milled explains the MSRP. Still the most copied putter. Such an outstanding and revolutionary design. Thanks Karsten.

This lineup further re-enforces the stronghold Ping has in the cast putter market. IMO, they make a great putter in the $150 range. In the $300 range, they're just average.
