Amazing day, as most have said. My finalists came down to:

XR16 Pro - Rogue Silver 60x

Ping G LS - DI-7x

Cobra Ltd - HZRDUS Black 75 6.5

Winner was easily the Cobra. Offered the best combo of distance and dispersion. Was really shocked that shaft worked so well for me!!

So.... Final three for me; Ping G LS - DI6, Cobra F6 - HZDRS Black, and Callaway XR16 - DI6.... All competing against my gamer which is REALLY GOOD, G30LS-DI6.

Have a heavy battle the winner was clear as mud!

XR16 was knocked out early.

F6 started to show itself as a strong THIRD PLACE.

The two Pings began to battle it out!

After a couple hundred balls, a 5:30am wake up call, an AMAZING time with Miles staff , WRX staff and 14 outstanding WRX'ers.... The G LS BARELY inched out G30 LS!!!

It literally came down to .5 yard of carry, 4 yards of roll out, a couple hundred RPM less spin, touch higher smash, a slightly tighter pattern and that G LS LOOKED and FELT MUCH BETTER!!

THANK YOU for an AMAZING DAY!!!

G bone,

How did the HZDRS shaft feel compared to the DI6 that you like?

OC, I can't feel the HZDRS Black load or "kick" like I do DI... And those are feelings I prefer.

That being said, HZDRS by no means felt harsh or rigid, and I would game it in a heartbeat had it been the shaft that fit me best.

Hands down the best experience ever, thank you to the GolfWRX crew and the Miles of golf fitters and staff...made us feel like family, can't wait to see the results of the other guys, my gamer ended up being the best fit with the M1 360 a very close second...

You and the Guys earned it!!!..

You guys make this place tick :)

Enjoy!!

All the Best,

A question for any one of you guys that got fit. How was the experience compared to any other fittings you have had? I'm planning on a fitting and live close to either Miles of Golf or Carls Launchpad. Would you recommend?

I've been fit at Carl's before. I would say that hands down, my fitter Sean was just as good as anyone they've got at Carl's. He was a golf nerd and extremely smart. As far as the setups, they are identical. Carl's and MOG both have every head and shaft you could want, with Trackman. Personally, I would and will be going to Miles for my fittings from now on

This thread has been fun to read. What it reinforced for me is that buying a driver without getting fit for it is...misguided. There was no one driver/shaft combination that everyone should run out and purchase. The best results for each of you seemed to be different: different head, different shaft.

So I suppose there is no "best" driver, simply the one that fits you.

A great day indeed, could not have asked for a better group (medic was an absolute machine, 1.52 smash factor) and fitter Bryan was awesome,

Best results came out of batch 2 of drivers. The final round , less results by me were evident, too many swings and it caught up by the last round.

Suffered swingspeed and solid contact, but in all it was an experience that will be remembered for years to come.

The Golfwrx staff is the best, hats off to them, all truly first class.

I'm sure this is planned, but it would be cool to see a full list of what everyone ended up with.

Glad the day was a success!

Ohh absolutely. There was 15 testers and there were also all of their gamers they tested along side of the 29 heads. We will be publishing everything. Full medal counts, each metal winners numbers and a deep dive how and why for each tester.

We have captured all the Trackman data for each of the 15 testers final 3 drivers they took into the final shootout. In that shootout they picked 1st, 2nd and third.

I think the best part is that now I am 100% sure I am not alone. There are others out there as obsessed with the game as I am!

Seriously. MOG was incredible. The whole experience was. From meeting the guys that make this site possible to the awesome members I shared this experience with - incredible.

To those in the area thinking about getting fitted at MOG - DO IT!!! They know their business!!!

It was interesting and really cool to be a part of this event from an employee's perspective. I was not one of the fitters but I was popping in and out throughout the day. Being apart of en event like this and meeting so many awesome golf nerds like myself is just one reason why working at miles of golf is so cool to me. It's fun to meet people who share the same passion for the game that I do. That is a major reason why I chose to make golf my career.

Thats a great post. Thanks for popping in.

Just a quick listing of my finalists, with a more detailed write up to come.

Current Gamer: G30 LST 9* (neutral setting), Tour AD MT 7x

Finalists:

Ping G LST

Srixon Z 745

Cobra King LTD Tour

This wasn't much of a competition. The G gave me about the same results as my gamer, maybe cut a couple hundred RPMs off. The Srixon performed really well when I hit it in the morning, but got a little tougher to control during the final session. The King LTD Tour was just so much better than anything else for me. It was the only head where I consistently saw smash around 1.50 and spin in the low 2000s, even when I missed on the heel. Dispersion was great, and it feels really nice, to boot. I was fitted into an AD DI 7x, with the loft at 7.5*. Our fitter, Shawn said I could probably set it a little higher if I wanted, since spin on center strikes was getting down around 1700, which might be a little too low.

Amazing experience, and I can't thank the WRX guys enough for including me. It was great meeting the staff and all the other testers. It's good to be around people who share an interest/obsession with this stuff!

Ping G430 LST 9* (set to 7.5*), 45", Fujikura Ventus TR Black 6x
Ping G430 LST 14.5* (set to 13*) Fujikura Ventus Black 7x
Ping G430 Max 18* (set to 17*) Fujikura Ventus Black 8x or Tour Edge CBX Iron-Wood 17* (Black Pearl) Fujikura Ventus HB Blue 9x
Epon AF-306 4i + Epon AF-Tour CB2 5-PW, Nippon Modus 125X
Yururi Seida Black 52*, Nippon Modus 125/Titleist Vokey SM8 58* K-Grind & 62* M-Grind DG S200
Byron Morgan long pipe neck B-17, Brushed Mystic finish, 34" or Byron Morgan long pipe neck beached 007x

The big difference between this and a "fitting" was the amount of drivers hit and time spent on each one. They broke down all the oems into different groups with 4-5 in each and in a true fitting session someone with a good eye would have elminated most after seeing the first few swings of the day. Because they wanted us to be able to give feedback on all of them we hit some that a fitter may have never handed over to begin with, and the MOG guys were so good I'm sure they would have been spot on in not having me try some of them. We'd still try a few shafts or settings changes just to make sure nothing new jumped out but they were spot on in being able to tell if one or another would work.

I would highly recommend, this isn't my first rodeo but both getting on trackman if you haven't before and the advice of a pro are eye opening.

Thanks again to all of the Wrx and Miles of Golf staff, the whole day was a blast!

Anyone have problems getting enough height on the cobra? Did fitters address this

For my pedestrian SS I wasn't getting enough height in the highest setting, nothing we could do about it. BS was good and spin numbers were so low that I'll probably grab one to try on the course.

The first go around it felt so soft I had no idea where I was hitting it on the face, at that point in the morning we were hitting into the sun and it was hard to see(we were there from 8am-6pm). First ball I had to look at the monitor to make sure I didn't top it or something, had no idea. The final shootout I started getting used to it, it's soft but does feel really good. Think last years Nike flex wooden bat feel.

This has been an awesome thread to read. Nice to see a real process and honest feedback. Sorry GD but your hot list is worthless.

Living vicariously through the testers here. I'm in frigid Wyoming where we get about 4 1/2 months of golf and don't have any big box stores or fitters. This event is showing the importance of trying to get somewhere and do an outdoor fitting with a quality ball tracker. Thanks to WRX and the members for the dedication to this site and sharing it all with us. Can't wait to see the final numbers.

I realize once again that these relationships developed here on WRX mean more than they seem online. Getting to know all the the guys in person makes me appreciate what we do here online even more.

We need to try to get out more and have the courage to meet each other to real life. After the odd first 2 minutes the common ground and shared passions make it easy to converse from there. At dinner you should have seen us. It was like we knew each other for years. Ohhh .... we did. Here on WRX.

We have a common bond. We really do. It is real and meaningful. :drinks:
