First thing I noticed was all the bend in those neck/hosel of all those irons to make them upright. WOW! I'm a Cobra guy myself , well driver and irons and have loved them since The original king cobra Pro Mb's I started with. Great irons, just have that certain feel I just happen to really like.

Those lie angles are absolutely incredible. Great work by Cobra to swingweight them properly without compromising aesthetics. I had a 3 iron that looked like that once, unfortunately it was from self inflicted damage after a poor shot.

While these seem nice and I respect the amount of work that went into crafting them, I preferred the mad scientist look of his last set of Edels, to be honest. The crazy, custom one-off look just seemed to fit his persona more than a clean set of irons.

Don't forget that those last set of irons we saw weren't his first Edel set that he'd been using for awhile.

 

This could just be the first variation with more to come.

Why are they THAT upright? His stuff is based off a 6 iron right? Would only the 3,4,and 5 need to be bent up?

They have to be bent that upright because of the fact that he swings on a single more upright plane. Also since all the clubs are the same, the all must me bent.

Given how much money they are obviously paying this guy, why doesn't cobra create a new mold or press for the iron head in the specs he needs?

 

Assuming he is being paid millions of dollars to play cobra gear, why don't they design and build a set of irons from scratch for him? All the same weight just different lofts. I'm no engineer, but even if this cost $50k for a set that is chump change compared to his endorsement contract.

Probably want to figure out if he wants to play the blades or cavities first, then start designing something for him. Id expect something for him in the next few months.

According to this Golf Digest story, he played the MB's at the Georgia Cup but went back to the Edel irons for the Masters, and will continue to play the Edels for the time being.

I was expecting to see some giant tungsten plugs all over, but I can't tell if the plugs are modified from the pics.
