I did a fitting over the holidays and landed on the Graphite Design Tour AD BB 7x shaft paired with this 5-wood.

Spent some time in a high end simulator this weekend and averaged 245 carry. Below was a touch further than average.

good numbers man! But I think most guys pick an older 5W or something theyve at least gamed off turf - dry, soaked, deep rough / conditions before they make judgement on 5W. Indoor numbers for 5W are of little significance if you think of the clubs purpose, unless you only hit it off the tee or perfect lies, which none of us do.

 

Great numbers again and awesome witb. Reserve judgement till you hit off grass though!

This is the least rotated club in my bag over the past several years. Here are my top 3 in order of ownership:

 

1) NIKE SQ- was just so darn consistent from 235, and hit it high with the OG Blue Board

2) Mizuno ST180- felt like a 3 wood where I was playing it 240ish plus off the deck with the Tensei Blue 70S...in the end didn't gap properly for my setup

3) TM M4- feels great, sounds great, and is right on 230-235 off the deck and with the stock Atmos 6S...love this thing and I could see this lasting in my bag for another 10 years

Like three woods, kinda a club you need to get comfy with since youre often hitting into greens and there be peril all about...so you gotta believe in it.

Besides my V steel with Purple Ice 85, the King Cobra 18* deepface w/ Fubuki Z series is a solid option- rails and deeper face make it a solid performer in great variety of conditions.

Ping eye persimmon. Best fairway wood I've ever had

 

To my knowledge, Ping never used persimmon,,laminated maple instead. Those things were rock hard and very durable.
