I first had these with the stock PX LZ, didn't work for me, then after hitting several other shafts at a range and at a fitting booth I settled on the Modus 105. I like the Modus but I just don't think these heads work for me. No idea why. Had a similar experience years ago with the MX-300. Guess Mizuno just isnt for me. Trajectory was just too low all around and the feel was a little dead to me. Hope others have better luck.

I keep gravitating back to Mizuno so I am probably at the opposite end of that spectrum. On the other hand, I've had two sets of Callaway's in the past 4 years that I really wanted to keep, but after some play neither suited me for one reason or another. I guess that's why there are so many manufacturers to choose from!

Anyone compare the 900 forged to the vapor pro combo's? Iron lofts aside of course.

I had a set of vapor pro combo's about two years ago. Really liked the feel when struck well and you got out them what you put in for sure. That said from my recollection and comparing them I'd say the JPX 900 forged are both longer and more forgiving. Feel wise... honestly the vapor pro's might have the advantage though.

For you guys with the 900 forged, what are you coming from?

I'm intrigued in these. I game j40 dpc, but have some mp25's arriving any day now.

I really think about getting fit. Coming from MP 52s that I played for ~6 years now.

Did you get fitted? I also used mp52 for 5 years. Lol. Wanna hear what fellow user switched to

Seeing great results from the 900 Forged, really hit the ball high and stop on a dime. They have just enough forgiveness packed into them to make up for the not so fresh days! I have actually hit some of my best shots with them out of the rough, they just get down and through the thick grass with real ease.

im also coming from the apex irons but with kbs c tapers. I was fit into the project x lz 5.5 a lighter shaft than I'm used to but seems to have helped my tempo. Still getting used to them but I do like the feel better than my apex. I tried the srixon 765s during a fitting and couldn't get along with them. I did hit the new apex pro and did really like them but not a fan of how shiny the face was. I'd be curious to see how either the iblades or the i's compare to the 900 forged. The only thing that usually leads me to stay away from ping are their lack of upgrade shafts, callaway and mizuno both blow them away in that area.

I agree I've played many sets of Mizunos last one was 850 Forged and those actually felt better than the 900 Forged. They just launch low and same thing feel dead. Mizuno really swung and missed I think with the GF Boron. Most if not all Mizuno players play them for the feel they know they're not long. Weird how people online talk about the soft feel of the 900 Forged don't see it.

I came from the Apex CF16's so for me the feel is night and day better in the 900 forged. What I'm surprised by is that you were hitting them low, I've lost my high ball until I put the 900's in the bag. The CF16's flighted on a mid-trajectory for me but the 900's get up quick and fly pretty high. Could just be my crazy swing!

How is everyone liking these after a bit of time in the bag?

I am looking at a partial set with AMT shafts but never played em before, also considering ordering new with C-taperX.

I love love mine. They're like the little bears deal from the kids story.....everything about them is juuuuust right. Granted I was coming from over from standard cally xr's with their stock 80 gram shaft, but for me with the 900 forged, the sole width, top line width, and offset are all perfect....looks cleaner without looking scary to my 10 handicap eyes. Shaft I chose was the proj x LZ 5.5 and who knew I enjoyed, in comparison, such a heavier shaft. I tried the modus which felt great too but for me the LZ just flew a little better in my test. But most importantly they feel waaay better and I haven't lost a thing on distance vs the cally. This is my 2nd set of mizzy irons, as I tried the JPX 850s....but I didn't like those at all.....this 900 forged I feel like gave me the "so that's what all those mizzy fans were talking about" moment. Love love love them to re-summarize!

Nice feedback, appreciate it.

I got all but about $100 in PP to cover the set, and have an itchy trigger finger. I already ordered a set of Tour's with the wrong shaft, don't want to do it again, may have to go new with 130X.

I found a place I can get 6-P for $625 shipped.

Oh, they are not going anywhere, love the 5's.

I am a small person, about the size of your average LPGA player...lol. I would not mind an extra 1/2 club in distance, especially for Spring and Fall when the ball is not traveling full distance.

I also sold a set of 945's and a nice 3W shaft yesterday and have PP funds smoldering, along with that price being $125 less than new anywhere else.

I am a HO. and these look good, love the satin.

Hahaha...thanks for responding. I've played Ping S55s since they came out and have enjoyed them. They're showing g their age/# of rounds now so I've been looking at new irons for next season. Not hugely impressed with the iBlades, but absolutely loved the feel of the MP 5s with the Modus 105s. I'm currently a 2.2 and prefer a more compact look, but therewas no denying that the 900 forged went higher and longer, especially on slight mishits.

I am more of a high single, so not sure I should really be playing them, but played my best golf of my life this past summer, shot even on 18 for first time. Iron play is probably the stronger part of my game.. The 5's are tough to beat, but had a few off days late this fall, would have enjoyed another 1/2 club and a bit more help on slight mis-hits.

I don't need them, just want them and made sales yesterday to cover. 1% chance I make it through the day without ordering.
