Mizuno jpx 900 forged

Has anyone hit the Forged or Hot Metals with the Modus 105 and the Project X LZ? Interested to hear what your thoughts were on the shafts.

Just got back from demo #2 with the forged and actually these were the 2 shafts I hit it it in. Both were sweet. For me the lz was a little longer and little higher but the modus felt a little smoother. The dispersion was tight with both. If I were forced to choose one over the other right now, I'd go with the lz as the produced my preferred flight which is higher than most would prefer, but the modus were sweet and I now get the fuss over them.

What weight/flex LZ did you hit since the Modus is a 105?

The 5.5 in stiff which is 115g. I was surprised as I usually lean more towards a lighter shaft, but that shaft in the forged to me just felt like a perfect pairing. Any standard Miz fitter should have both in their fitting cart. Def worth it to hit both.

I didn't like the feel of the Modus 105, or the Project X LZ 5.5 so ended up with the XP 105 R300 which I had previously installed in my JPX 850, CF-16's and yet to arrive 565's.

Did you ever hit the PX LZ next to the standard PX?Any difference in flight? I hit PX vs Modus 105 in the Ping I's and the 105s went WAY higher for me. Which is actually a good thing for me though =D

Unfortunately i have not hit the standard issue px. In looking at the specs for each they should flight a little lower as they don't have the same active middle section of the lz. I'm with you....I prefer to see a higher flight with my irons and the lz gives me that.

For you guys with the 900 forged, what are you coming from?

I'm intrigued in these. I game j40 dpc, but have some mp25's arriving any day now.

Ha ha. My 25s are out for delivery today! My 900F are on order. Not sure I will hit the 25s until the 900F arrive so I can compare the aesthetics side by side. Then one set will go,

I really think about getting fit. Coming from MP 52s that I played for ~6 years now.

Just got my 25s. Canceled my 900F order. 25s set up perfectly for me and feel perfect weight-wise with these shafts. First round tomorrow :)

I'm coming from 714 AP1's. Had my first round with them on Sunday. I'm in love. The feel of them is wonderful coming from the AP1.

Distances were a little different but other than that it was a solid first run.

I was fit for the mp25's, but then the 900's were released a few days after. When they come in I'll for hit them side by side. Just curious on thoughts of the two.

If you don't like one of them, I'll take them. I'll be moving to Las Cruces soon.

I wish I could sorry. I'm gonna try the 25's for a few rounds, and if I don't like them, I can get store credit for what I payed for them towards the 900's.

Tried these and the Tours a few days ago at Golf Mart (San Diego) as I'm in the market for a new set of irons (40th bday present for myself). I grew up playing Mizzys so I have great respect for their quality irons. Hit the 6 iron (Nippon Modus 105...stiff). Club felt buttery pure and soft. The only thing that had me baffled was the spin was lower than what I had expected. Here are the numbers directly off of the simulator and would really appreciate any input/advice from you guys out there:

Mizuno JPX 900 Forged - 6 iron (10 shot average)

86.5 mph club head

125.4 ball speed

1.45 efficiency ratio (have no idea what this is but it was 1.45 for all 10 shots...anybody can answer what that is, I would appreciate it)

16.2 launch angle

1.2 azimuth

285L side spin (this I get...a play a slight draw)

3989 back spin

4000 total spin?!?!?

31 yards peak height

43 degrees descent angle

190 yards carry

205 yards total distance

-3 yard offline

I play courses all over SD but my favorite track is Maderas which has some harder greens so I'm concerned about my ball sticking with spin rates like this. Tried the Tour version and added about 500 extra rpm's and lost about 6 yards compared to the Forged version. Gonna head back and try the iBlades next but I've been playing forged since I was 12 years old so not sure what to expect. Needless to say, I'm completely lost right now!

Just played first day with JPX 900 Forged. I had similar Simulator experience. 6 iron Speed 85. Shafted with the modus .

My longest iron was a downwind 5 iron. It rolled a total of 3 ft. For my swing the heads launch the ball high enough they stay in the air a long time and move very little when landing.

I wasn't able to find a demo to use in actual play so just took the leap. If you can't find a demo for actual play good luck.

Just tried the iBlades and you are exactly right...they were a little more clicks and about 1/2 club shorter. FWIW, they did have about 500 rpm more of backspin.

You're right... 900 forged PW is smaller profile than 25s... Damn I can't believe that!
