Agreed - I can't understand why the "limited edition" players version isn't...you know...THE ACTUAL PLAYERS VERSION.

 

It's because there's an old rule of thumb in the golf business world and that's "never give them what they want". This way you keep trying different putters and buying more and more. The limited TM release of Days' putter was maybe the worst putter release I've ever seen. It wasn't even close to his putter.

All of these guys have hot weeks, see Rory's performance last week amid weeks of terrible putting. However, I was really glad to see DJ go to a mallet. I have been hoping he would bag one for a while. It is crazy to see #1 and #2 rolling the same model though!

DJ is a better putter then Rory and agree it's crazy seeing 1 and 2 use the same putter especially when it's a mallet and not an Anser style model. Each year a few more players convert to the higher MOI putters.

Correct. They were saying its longer then his old Scotty(34.5) too. Guessing 35 or 35.5.

The black & white version they released a few years ago had the option of slant neck or single bend shaft. Why can't they offer both? The insert on DJ's is definitely different from the one they released to the general public too.

Those inserts are awful... How you choose to play that over this beautiful Cameron is beyond me.

 

 

I've been playing a Ghost Tour Daytona 62 with that "awful insert" all Summer. I've never putted as well in my 26 years of play, including 9 straight years with a Pro Platinum Newport.

To my eyes the grip looks like a Winn Medalist Pistol Standard size in black.

I am not a TM guy but I would buy that putter if it was released. Like the technology but don't like double bend shaft or red color of the current offering.

I was told by our Taylormade rep that they are releasing the exact replica of Jason Day's putter late this fall and it will cost about $300. Same red color, no site lines, slant neck, etc. Really hope they offer a black version as well though.

Yes, DJ was using the 80/20 this week in the black Itsy Bitsy. Day used the 80/20 in his black spider last year, but he has a stock 100% Surlyn black insert in his red spider (he initially had the 80/20 the first week he used it, but switched to the black insert after a week)

 

So the slant version of this has a bit of toe hang??
