I took .75 inch off the length of my Epic and now its a cannon. Not sure what changed, but finding the center of the club face has been great.

 

Also, nice little learning experiment. When you have your putter fitter at ECPC tell you that a putter isn't going to work for you, don't try to defy all odds and get it and try to make it work. Nick at callaway told me that i needed a patter that wasn't very deep from front to back. So stay away from things like the 2-ball, #7 head, R-line. The 1W was close, but still caused some misalignment. I tried out a 7 the other day and had a decent day putting. I thought I had it figured out. Got out there today and couldn't hit my line to save my life. Left of my mark and right of it. All over. Going back to the 1/blade type head and sticking to it.

It's funny you should mention putters. The one I have just doesn't feel right. I was putting with some of the "O" Works putters and really like the feel. I may pick one up.

I have a Works V-Line and a Works #7 CH and they don't feel right to me either. I think its the insert.

 

I picked up a carbon fiber insert on ebay to replace to one in the #7 when I have time.

 

I've been playing the WBW O-Works #1 wide since they shipped it to me a couple weeks ago and I like that one a lot.

I went back to my SGC putter. I just can't use anything that isn't close to 400 grams or i feel like i lose my stroke on short putts

 

After 5 rounds this year i've putter better with it.

I may eventually go back to the Odyssey. Both putters have flaws. You guys ever have issues with putters getting caught on the grass during your backswing? I find the Big OEMs usually bevel the back edge or gradually thin it towards the back so it doesn't happen.

 

But i've had a couple of custom putters now that are flat from front to back. And sometimes when i backswing (i ground my putter and have a pendulum stroke that hugs the ground) the back edge gets caught a bit and it's pretty distracting.

 

I've been working on raising the putter slightly before backswing. But it's not my preferred manner of putting

I probably should've spoken up about that a bit more. We did the putter fittings the first night, we had a few drinks and were having fun primarily doing the long drive contest in the fitting bay. I was the last group to do the putter fitting and we did it pretty fast. It was really more my fault.

 

They fit me for a putter that fits my stroke, that part was great. He sized me up right away....but i should've clarified that i prefer heavier putters. I ended up making about 7-8 in a row with the one i was fit for so just went with it. But when i get outside i'm just not comfortable.

 

I may also just buy a honking amount of lead tape and use it like that

I would blame it on the Poe greens at Torrey Pines South. It threw off your feel and touch now that you are back on bent greens.

I agree. I think it is the insert as well. I went ahead and ordered the "O" Works putter. The feel of it is so much better...for me anyway :-)

 

I am still very pleased with all my other clubs...as well as the golf bag.

Still have them all in play. I am really liking the 60* wedge more and more. I had never used one before. It was a train wreck at Torrey Pines, but I'm starting to figure it out as I use it more.

The head pro at my home club told me today that during the product training that callaway did for our pro shop guys, they showed the data from our trip and talked about us!

 

Our season is just getting started here so all the demo days are coming soon, and our pro shop is getting all their training.

 

They knew I had gone, but I guess kinda cool that one of their members was actually there, and cool for us that they are still talking about it!

Yep! My dad and I went to one of the Epic Tour Events for our pro shop so he could get his credits for the PGA. They talked about us a bit and had a breakdown of how much we gained. It was really cool.

I've been worried about mine ever since i heard about the faulty screw problem on the Subzero. Since we didn't get it through stores i was just wondering what to do if I have that issue (or other issues, such as this).

I have a very similar looking spot right above GBB its not quite as big of a spot as yours. Is yours under the clear coat? At first i thought it was a mark from a tee but it feels a touch raised, almost looks like the carbon is separating more than an actual crack.

Some guys are actually getting spider webs superficial marks on their face.

 

Cally will definitely take care of it but it sucks especially it being hotmelted.

 

Such a great driver with some production problems.
