Looks like I know what I am getting for Christmas. Now to start figuring out the set makeup. And wedges too!

I second that request. The Mizuno US website states that the 900 tour has more sweetspot than the Titleist AP2 and CB, and Cally Apex, but a smaller face overall. I'd like to go with the tour unless when I get a chance to try these out they call my name.

I did read somewhere that all of the MP-18 heads including the MMC are more compact than the 900 Tour head. Unsure about forgiveness.

We have seen the SC compared to the MP5 already, and it sure did not look more compact, and the 900T is definitely more compact than the 5's. I would like to see them in person.

I am thinking about Fli-Hi 2-iron, MP-18 MMC 4-iron, MP-18 SC 5 - 6-irons, MP-18 7 - PW

Longest iron i carry is a 5, so I will probably look at:

Fli hi 5 iron

Mmc 6-8

SC 9-pw

3 T7 wedges depending on lofts.

 

Might consider the blade PW.

Thinking get of where I traditionally have larger gaps (and smaller gaps) in my yardages. Since the tungsten leaves the toe after the 7 the 8 mmc will be a good go between before getting to the 9 sc.

 

Yes he 5 fli hi might just be considered just to make it a more combo set , same with the idea of the blade pw which probably won't happen.

 

Really looking forward to seeing the lofts well, and then actually hitting them!

The only thing protecting my wallet this fall is waiting on news of more DG 120 offerings. C'mon Mizuno and True Temper. Throw in a DG 120 S300 for 2018.

They are consistent with recent MP offerings...46* PW with 4* gapping through 6-iron, then 3* gapping down from there. Same specs as the MP 18 blade, MP-5, MP-4, MP-64, etc.

There are a few video reviews out now. The MMC might be a surprisingly good option. I love my 64s and have been looking for a replacement and I thought it would be the SC. If the MMC does actually play as well but with more forgiveness that would be great.

 

I don't know why the first information about the MMC club came out this month.

I'm almost certain that list you saw was it for upgrades. They don't offer many choices but what they do offer are some solid choices for no upcharge.

But there certainly must be a list of of the custom shafts that they charge for. I want to know if they have Tour V's or $ tapers available. Surely they can get any KBS product.

 

Someone said DG 120's might be available no upcharge too.
