All I ever read about on this forum when it comes to announcers is how awful they all are. Do you friggin guys like any of them?

McCord for me? Just depends. Some times he's pretty funny, especially when it flows in the conversation. But a lot of times it seems like he's forcing it.

Agreed. I can't wake up early and watch Euro golf because it just puts me back to sleep. 1/2 of the broadcast seems to be shots of people sleeping in the gallery. What little gallery there usually is.

His routine is getting old, he should leave the self deprecating humor to Feherty who does it much better. He has no self control and insists on filling ever second of broadcast time with ramblings and random noises. I actually had to shut off the volume because of how obnoxious he was today.

I'll go against the grain here and say I like Dotty. She is good and knowledgeable and does not try to hard to be a comedian. I also like Faldo which is hard for most in this forum to swallow. Lastly, Feherty is awesome.

 

I miss the Faldo/Azinger combo on ABC. They complemented each other perfectly and got a lot of laughs out of me.

 

The combination of American crowds, announcing teams, and courses that all seem the same has worn me down after watching weekly for 30+ years. This week I mostly watched the women's US Open and the Scottish Open. Give me links courses, links weather, European announcers and crowds and it would be like a refreshing new start.

Other than the lack of cameras and pro tracer, Euro broadcasts are FAR better. American announcers have diarrhea of the mouth. They can't let 1.5 seconds go by without saying something. The euro broadcast actually lets you watch golf shots without some want to be comedian yammering on about something stupid.

I agree, McCord would not stop rambling yesterday. I was waiting for him to start make farting noises just to get some cheap laughs since he had tried everything else.

McCord is ruining televised golf for me. he's the only announcer during live play that i get the feeling he thinks its about him rather than the actual golf. the unfunny jokes, the constant guessing whether someone will make a putt, the incoherent babble....give me boring over obnoxious any day.

I like Gary, Johnny, NOT Notah, and glad Kelly went away. Loosen up people...the back and forth the other week about being given golf balls was hilarious. Nance told Gary he only got a few dozen since 2 rounds were all he was playing.
