Nike (Lunar Control Vapor 2's)LCV 2's

Recommended Posts

I haven’t worn them on course yet, is the traction better than traditional spikes?

Yes! They are incredibly grippy. The spikes hold up well too, I have about 40 rounds on each of two pairs of the LC1's and the spikes are still very grippy.

Any estimate on how long the soles would hold up? I have a pair of Dryjoys from 2012 :shok: I am looking to replace that developed cracks in the leather, but are still waterproof and clean up well in every other sense. I do change the spikes out every year, so I would hate for the sole to have the same lifespan as regular spikes and have to trash them. I don't have any illusions of them lasting six years though, as that was really pushing the Dryjoys and they probably should have been replaced a year or two ago.

The shoe itself seems to be breaking down faster than the spikes are wearing out. I walk a lot, I'd guess I've walked 20-25 rounds each shoe. I bet each pair of shoes has walked 200 miles so far. It's a sneaker design so 300-400 miles is right on par, if I had to guess the spikes at that point are where I'd want to replace them if I could.

Yeah, I'm jealous. I wish my shoes lasted that long but I would say one pair of shoes lasts me one year. That is about 35 rounds a year and some range time. Just ordered a new pair of Puma Pwradapt disc shoes to replace my FJs. The Puma's surprised me as I have never owned a Puma product but they felt more comfortable than all the NIKE, FJ and Sketchers I tried on.

I’m very interested in the Pumas.

I really wanted the PWRADAPT to be my new shoe this year but fall hopelessly in between sizes. 12 is too small and 13 is too big and they don't make a 12.5. I can't believe the difference in length between the 12 and 13.

I even tried the Power Sport and the size 13's were like elf shoes they were so long.

I had the same problem with the new Nike Rosche although I was between 13 and 14. 13 too short and 14 a mile too long. Gonna try some Skecher's today but might have to stick with my old adidas S Boost 3 as their 12.5 is perfect for me as is the Powerband Boa Boost albeit in size 13.

Just would like to add some variety but have weird feet I guess.

Am I crazy or is it actually possible that my white LCV2’s fit better and feel more comfortable than the same shoe in the same size except in the all black colorway? Is Nike for real having QC issues this close in the family?

These shoes have to be a golf course superintendent’s worst nightmare.

Why you say? Never heard a complaint at any of the clubs I've played. It's not like people drag their feet and tear up the greens. Which by the way would be the only way they would permanently damage a green. Wonder if the PGA has outlawed them because they are so bad???

Agreed. I wear these shoes a LOT and I've seen the track marks. They've always disappeared.

I’ve seen superintendents on twitter posts bemoaning these shoes. If they have an issue with them, I’ll take their word for it.

Same things were said about Adidas Tour 360's, and the golfing world still goes round.

I believe that was the Adizero that looked like a football boot (soccer shoe) that Sergio used to wear. Those things definitely did a number on greens. Note how they pretty much immediately went away from that style outsole?

I'd guess these aren't all that bad as they've had a few years worth of designs use that outsole.

I love my Lunar Control Vapors! I just upgraded to the 2's. But still will wear the 1's around too. They have about 30 rounds at least in em and most of them have been walking rounds. I just try to stay off the paths and walk more on the grass. But yes, I always wondered about the track marks they leave, but do notice they disappear. I am 6'2'' 235, so I am not light on my feet by any means.

I like them better than spiked golf shoes. I feel so much more secure in my swing and never worry about slipping.

I'd wear them to spite mine. He's an idiot who over waters, scalps, never changes the hole location and has the worst bunkers in the history of the sport

I just bought a pair of LCV 2s coming from the ones. Got home and tried them on and don't like the fit for me. Sizing changed??

The sizing is really bad on these. I've worn 11 in Nike's for as long as I can remember and I had to get a 10 in these to keep my heels from slipping. But now by the end of 18 holes my pinkie toes are screaming to be let out. I really wanted these but I think I'm going to call and complain to Nike today about how bad the sizing is and see if I can get them swapped out for something else.

Anyone got any tips for cleaning these? More specifically the sides of the sole where it joins the upper.

The upper is really easy just to wipe clean with a cloth, but I have a super clean upper, and then the sides of the soles are just staying muddy.

Sending my thunder blue LCV 2 back. Have a pair of the LCV 1 that I love and was very disappointed with the sizing on the 2's(too narrow).
