Both m3 Driver and 3 wood have the tm graphics of pro white. M1 3 wood has the real pro white graphics

Could this be some prototype of the Tensei? I don't recall ever seeing a Tensei shaft that color shifted from dark to light like that?

 

What exactly are the "retail graphics?"

 

On TaylorMade's site, the stock Tensei shafts for the M3/M4 are shown with a this dark to silver finish. Unless Mitsubishi Chemical has changed their colors in the Tensei line for this year, then it would appear to be a finish unique to the M3/M4 line. That's why I called them "retail graphics." (Note: This isn't a discussion about the shafts being "made for". I believe these to be the normal non-Pro Tensei shafts) From taylormadegolf.com:

 

 

 

 

Tiger's shaft today appears to match this color scheme. By every account I've read, Tiger is still playing the CK Pro White, not a proto. So that would mean his paint job matches the retail paint, not the aftermarket CK Pro White paint. I found that interesting because it's been a few years since TaylorMade staff pros were using shafts painted to look like the retail shafts. Not sure that it means anything, it was just interesting to me. Here's another photo from when he was testing TaylorMade gear that shows him using the same color scheme.

 

 

 

If Mitsubishi changed their default colors, then this is all a pointless post. But their website still has the original Tensei colors shown and I know Rose's Pro Orange had the normal Tensei colors.

With iron testing in the rearview, Woods switches gears to drivers and the search to find something that can unseat "Snowflake," the nickname bestowed upon his '16 M2 driver due to its one-of-a-kind qualities. Woods, who asks that the TrackMan numbers not be normalized during the range session, jokingly picks out a guy in a yellow shirt on the far right end of the double-sided range as the target, then begins to pump balls with an 8.5-degree M4 driver outfitted with a Mitsubishi Chemical Tensei CK Pro White 70TX shaft. (Note: Woods tested multiple drivers but all of them had the same CK Pro White 70TX shaft.)
